YAVAPAI REGIONAL TRANSIT EXISTS SOLEY FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING PUBLIC TRANSIT SERVICES IN THE TRI-CITY AREA OF CENTRAL YAVAPAI COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL ARIZONA. OVER A TEN YEAR PERIOD, YRT HAS EVOLVED FROM A DEDICATED SENIOR CENTER TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM IN A RURAL COMMUNITY TO A PUBLIC TRANSIT SERVICE CONNECTING THAT COMMUNITY WITH TWO OTHER MORE URBAN POPULATION CENTERS, CREATING ACCESS TO SHOPPING, MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS, GOVERNMENTAL SERVICES, EDUCATION, EMPLOYMENT, AND RECREATION. IN FY 2022, YRT PROVIDED 14,550 RIDES AT NO CHARGE. 6,438 OF THOSE WERE ADA QUALIFIED.
