YAVAPAI REGIONAL TRANSIT EXISTS SOLEY FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING PUBLIC TRANSIT SERVICES IN THE TRI-CITY AREA OF CENTRAL YAVAPAI COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL ARIZONA. OVER A TEN YEAR PERIOD, YRT HAS EVOLVED FROM A DEDICATED SENIOR CENTER TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM IN A RURAL COMMUNITY TO A PUBLIC TRANSIT SERVICE CONNECTING THAT COMMUNITY WITH TWO OTHER MORE URBAN POPULATION CENTERS, CREATING ACCESS TO SHOPPING, MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS, GOVERNMENTAL SERVICES, EDUCATION, EMPLOYMENT, AND RECREATION. IN FY 20, YRT PROVIDED 12,597 RIDES. RIDES WERE PROVIDED AT NO CHARGE. SPECIAL EVENTS PROVIDED APPROXIMATELY 212 RIDES FOR 4 EVENTS TOTAL.
