THE PURPOSE OF THE SHERIFF'S CHARITIES, INC. IS TO RAISE FUNDS FROM BUSINESSES AND INDIVIDUALS IN CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, WHICH FUNDS WILL BE DISBURSED TO CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS LOCATED IN, OR SERVING INDIVIDUALS IN, CONTRA COSTA COUNTY. THE PURPOSE IS ALSO TO PROVIDE INFORMATION, SERVICES, PROPERTY OR FUNDS FOR THE BENEFIT, WELFARE OR EDUCATION OF YOUTH; TO PROMOTE GOOD CITIZENSHIP AND THE MENTAL, MORAL AND PHYSICAL BETTERMENT OF YOUTH; TO PROMOTE ACTIVITIES AND PROVIDE SERVICES, MONEY, PROPERTY OR ASSIST IN THE AWARD OR GRANT OF SCHOLARSHIPS TO OR FOR YOUTH OR ANY DESERVING PERSON.
