THE LIBERTY FOUNDATION GOLF INVITATIONAL IS THE FOUNDATION'S KEY FUNDRAISING EVENT. THE TOURNAMENT HAS BEEN RAISING FUNDS FOR COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS IN PUERTO RICO SINCE 1996, WHEN IT RAISED $19,000 FOR THE HOGAR SAN JOSE IN LUQUILLO. SINCE THEN, THE EVENT HAS RAISED OVER $4 MILLION FOR NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS THROUGHOUT THE ISLAND, INCLUDING THIS YEAR'S DONATION. IN 2022, THE EVENT INCLUDED A RECORD-BREAKING DONATION OF $650,000 FOR 36 NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS IN PUERTO RICO AND THE UNITED STATES VIRGIN ISLANDS.


THE FOUNDATION INCURRED EXPENSES FOR A VARIETY OF EVENTS FOR CHARITABLE PURPOSES, INCLUDING A GRADUATION CELEBRATION FOR THE SOCIETY OF WOMEN CODERS, A SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE FREE OF CHARGE TO ATTENDEES, A RECREATIONAL ACTIVITY HELD FOR PARTICIPANTS OF NINOS DE NUEVA ESPERANZA, AND RENTAL OF A REFRIGERATED TRUCK FOR ICE DELIVERY TO THOSE AFFECTED BY HURRICANE FIONA.
