FUNDING THIS YEAR WAS SPECIFICALLY FOR PARENT EDUCATION. TAG PROVIDED FOUR PARENT EDUCATION WORKSHOPS FOR PARENTS OF DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING CHILDREN AND TEENS. ALONG WITH THE 4 WORKSHOPS, WE TEAMED WITH LOCAL SCHOOLS TO PROVIDE A FAMILY PICNIC AT EL SERENO PARK IN EAST LOS ANGELES FOR ANY PARENT OF DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING STUDENTS. TAG ALSO PROVIDED 2 SOCIALIZATION AND SELF-ADVOCACY GROUPS IN LAUSD. EACH SCHOOL PROGRAM INCLUDED PARENT EDUCATION MEETING PRESENTATIONS ON TRANSITION TO MIDDLE SCHOOL. TAG ALSO PROVIDED INSERVICE TO GRADUATE STUDENTS BECOMING TEACHERS OF THE DEAF AND TO A GROUP OF PROFESSIONALS IN ORANGE COUNTY PROVIDING SERVICES TO DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING STUDENTS.
