IN PARTNERSHIP WITH GOD, MANATEE COUNTY HABITAT DEVELOPS RESOURCES, EDUCATES, AND MOBILIZES PEOPLE TO WORK ALONGSIDE FAMILIES IN NEED, REHABILITATING EXISTING HOMES AND BUILDING SUSTAINABLE, AFFORDABLE HOMES, THEREBY IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR FAMILIES AND THE COMMUNITY.

HABITAT HAS A RESTORE - A DISCOUNT RETAIL OUTLET THAT ENABLES HOUSE-BUILDING THROUGH SALES OF NEW, USED AND SURPLUS DONATED GOODS. RESTORE HELPS GENERATE ADDITIONAL FUNDS TO BUILD MORE HABITAT FOR HUMANITIY HOMES IN MANATEE COUNTY. THE STORE HELPS TO REPURPOSE AND RECYCLE USABLE ITEMS AND MATERIALS THAT MIGHT OTHERWISE BE DISCARDED - SAVING SPACE, TIME AND MONEY. THE STORE PROVIDES NEW AND GENTLY USED FURNITURE, HOUSE WARES, BUILDING MATERIALS AND APPLIANCES AT AFFORDABLE PRICES TO PEOPLE OF ALL INCOME LEVELS.
HOMEOWNERSHIP PROGRAMS: MANATEE HABITAT WORKS WITH FAMILIES WHO SEEK TO IMPROVE THEIR FUTURE THROUGH HOMEOWNERSHIP. MANATEE COUNTY HABITAT PROVIDES A 'HAND UP' TO QUALIFIED FAMILIES, WHO PARTNER WITH VOLUNTEERS TO BUILD 'GREEN SUSTAINABLE' HOMES, WHICH THE FAMILIES THEN PURCHASE WITH A ZERO PERCENT INTEREST LOAN. TO ADDRESS PROBLEMS WITH LOW INCOME HOMEOWNERS, MANATEE COUNTY HABITAT ALSO PROVIDES ASSISTANCE THROUGH A VARIETY OF REHAB/REPAIR PROGRAMS. THE PROGRAMS PROVIDE CRITICAL HOME REPAIRS/REHABS AND EXTERIOR HOME REPAIR SERVICES TO THE ELDERLY, DISABLED AND VETERANS. MANATEE HABITAT ALSO ACQUIRES FORECLOSED HOMES WHICH ARE REHABBED AND THEN SOLD TO QUALIFIED HABITAT HOMEBUYERS. WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCAL MUNICIPALITIES AND PRIVATE ORGANIZATIONS, MANATEE HABITAT VOLUNTEERS PROVIDE THE EXPERTISE AND LABOR TO MAKE THE IMPROVEMENTS TO HOMES THROUGHOUT MANATEE COUNTY.
