THE HIS HOUSE INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM PROVIDES CARE FOR UNACCOMPANIED NON-CITIZEN MINOR CHILDREN (UC) FLEEING THEIR HOME COUNTRIES DUE TO GANG VIOLENCE, HOMELESSNESS, ECONOMIC HARDSHIP AND ABUSE AND WHO ARE SEEKING PERSONAL SAFETY IN THE UNITED STATES. THE PROGRAM'S MAIN PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE A SAFE AND APPROPRIATE ENVIRONMENT FOR UC DURING THE INTERIM PERIOD BETWEEN THEIR TRANSFER INTO HIS HOUSE CARE AND THEIR RELEASE FROM ORR CUSTODY. FROM JUNE 30, 2020 UNTIL JULY 1, 2021, THE UC PROGRAM SERVED 576 CLIENTS AND SUCCESSFULLY DISCHARGED 460. CURRENT UC SERVICES INCLUDE RESIDENTIAL SHELTER CARE AND/OR TRANSITIONAL FOSTER CARE, CASE MANAGEMENT, MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING, REUNIFICATION/RELEASE PLANNING, MEDICAL COORDINATION, ONSITE EDUCATIONAL SERVICES. THE RESIDENTIAL DOMESTIC PROGRAM IS DEDICATED TO PROVIDING CARE FOR THE COMMUNITIES MOST VULNERABLE CHILDREN WHO HAVE BEEN ABUSED, ABANDONED AND NEGLECTED. OUR MISSION HAS BEEN TO RESTORE THE EMOTIONAL AND PHYSICAL WELL-BEING OF CHILDREN THROUGH AN ARRAY OF SERVICES IN A LOVING AND NURTURING ENVIRONMENT. WE PROVIDE CLINICAL SERVICES, HUMAN TRAFFICKING EDUCATION, MEDICAL COORDINATION, CRISIS INTERVENTION, AND ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS. FROM JUNE 30, 2020 UNTIL JULY 1, 2021, THE DOMESTIC PROGRAM SERVED 244 CLIENTS AND DISCHARGED 195. HIS HOUSE STRIVES TO PROVIDE THE HIGHEST QUALITY OF CARE TO MAXIMIZE THE CHILD'S OPPORTUNITIES FOR SUCCESS WHILE IN OUR CARE.
THE HIS HOUSE LICENSING DEPARTMENT RECRUITS, TRAINS, CONDUCTS THE LICENSING STUDIES, AND PROVIDES ON-GOING SUPPORT TO FOSTER PARENTS IN MIAMI-DADE AND BROWARD COUNTY. AT THE END OF FY 2021, WE HAD 41 ACTIVE FOSTER HOMES.
