ADULT ART INSTRUCTION AND CLASSES: IN ADDITION TO REGULAR ART CLASSES THERE ARE PROGRAMS INCLUDED FOR ADULTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS TO FOSTER SELF ESTEEM AND PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY TO GROW THROUGH CREATIVE EXPRESSION IN VARIED MEDIUMS. THIS SERVES THE ADULT POPULATION WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. STUDENTS COME FROM LOWER INCOME FAMILIES. THERE ARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE NOVICE TO THE ADVANCED WORKSHOPS FOR THE PROFESSIONAL. WE ALSO SERVE AS A HOME FOR LOCAL ARTISTS, WITH MONTHLY THEMED AND JUDGED GALLERY SHOWS THAT ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AT NO CHARGE. WE HAVE ART IN PUBLIC PLACES TO ROTATE BEAUTIFUL ARTWORKS IN BUSINESSES THROUGHOUT OUR COMMUNITY.
YOUTH SUMMER ART CLASSES: WE SPONSORED THE FUN TASTIC ART CAMP SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR AREA STUDENTS AGES 6-12. FOR 2021 THE CENTER HAD ART CAMP FOR 8 WEEKS, WITH 32 CHILDREN A WEEK FROM FINANCIALLY DISADVANTAGED HOMES. EVERY SATURDAY MORNING DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR INSTRUCTORS PROVIDE ART INSTRUCTION AT NO COST TO SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN TO FILL THE CLASSROOM OF 20. THIS BRINGS YOUNG FAMILIES INTO THE ART CENTER WHO WOULD OTHERWISE NOT CONSIDER IT.
