THE PURPOSE OF THIS ASSOCIATION SHALL BE: 1) MUTUAL ASSISTANCE AND THE PROMOTION AND ADVANCEMENT OF MUSIC EDUCATION THROUGH THE SCHOOLS AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS OR ORGANIZATIONS. 2) TO ENCOURAGE MUSIC ACTIVITIES AMONG THE SCHOOLS OF THE STATE BY MEANS OF FESTIVALS, CLINICS AND OTHER RELATED EVENTS. 3) TO SECURE GREATER RECOGNITION FOR MUSIC AS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE SCHOOL CURRICULIM. 4) TO ENCOURAGE THE DEVELOPMENT OF MUSIC OUTLETS IN EACH COMMUNITY THAT WILL PROVIDE POST SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES. 5) TO PROMOTE PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AMONG ITS MEMBERS.
