WE CONNECT RESOURCES WITH NEEDS THROUGH RELATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS TO HELP COMMUNITIES THRIVE. OUR VISION IS TO BUILD HEALTHY COMMUNITIES THAT REFLECT ONENESS WITH CHRIST IN OUR CITY. WE DO THIS BY: LIVING OUT BIBLICAL JUSTICE, PRACTICING RESPONSIBLE CARE, INVESTING IN COMMUNITY HEALTH INITIATIVES, MAXIMIZING THE VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE, AND DEVELOPING MISSIONAL RELATIONSHIPS.

HEALTHY LIVING:CSM FACILITATED MULTIPLE COMMUNITY GARDENS INCLUDING A GARDEN CENTER AT OUR HEADQUARTERS USING TRADITIONAL GROWING METHODS TO PRODUCE FOOD FOR OUR PARTNER DISTRIBUTION. EDUCATIONAL ADVANCEMENT:BY PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR ONGOING EDUCATION AND MENTORING IN THE COMMUNITY, CSM SUPPORTS SCHOOLS AND AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMS WITH VOLUNTEERS AND RESOURCES. WHILE PROVIDING TOOLS FOR BETTER EDUCATION, THESE PROGRAMS ALSO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR CROSS-CULTURAL RELATIONSHIPS, RACIAL RECONCILIATION DISCUSSIONS AND WORKSHOPS, AND TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES AROUND YOUTH ENGAGEMENT, VOLUNTEERISM, AND HOW TO WORK WITH THE POOR.IMPROVED HOMEOWNERSHIP:THE CSM HOUSING MINISTRY IMPROVES HOME EXTERIORS THROUGH PROJECTS SUCH AS PAINTING, SIDING, ROOFING, DECK REPAIR, AND WHEELCHAIR RAMP CONSTRUCTION AND IMPROVES HOME INTERIORS BY MAKING THEM LIVABLE AGAIN THROUGHOUT BIRMINGHAM CITY. SPIRITUAL FORMATION:CSM SPONSORED GOSPEL-CENTERED PROGRAMS IMPACTING THE BIRMINGHAM AREA FOR CHRIST THROUGH PROGRAMS SUCH AS THANKSGIVING BASKETS OF KINDNESS, SUMMER CHURCH CAMPS, AND THE CHRISTMAS IN THE CITY PROGRAM.RESOURCES MINISTRY:CSM DISTRIBUTES FOOD, PERSONAL CARE, AND OTHER TANGIBLE RESOURCES TO PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS IN THE GREATER BIRMINGHAM AREA TO INCREASE THEIR CAPACITY TO SERVE MORE PEOPLE.
