THE YMCA OF TUSCALOOSA PROVIDES SERVICES TO ANYONE IN NEED REGARDLESS OF ABILITY TO PAY. THE Y HAS THREE KEY FOCUS AREAS: YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, HEALTHY LIVING, AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. THROUGH YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, NUMEROUS PROGRAMS ARE OFFERED AT BOTH BRANCHES TO HELP ACCOMPLISH THIS GOAL, SUCH AS AFTER SCHOOL, CAMP PROGRAMS, AND SWIMMING. THE FOCUS ON HEALTHY LIVING IS EVIDENT THROUGH OUR HEALTH AND WELLNESS PROGRAMS. THE YMCA PROVIDES A VARIETY OF GROUP FITNESS CLASSES TO SUPPORT PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND SPIRITUAL WELL-BEING. THE THIRD FOCUS AREA IS SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. THE YMCA WAS FOUNDED BY A GROUP OF VOLUNTEERS WHO WANTED TO IMPROVE THEIR COMMUNITIES. IT IS THROUGH THE SUPPORT OF VOLUNTEERS, AND PUBLIC AND PRIVATE DONORS THAT WE ARE ABLE TO SERVE AND DELIVER ON OUR CAUSE TO STRENGTHEN COMMUNITY.
