THE SUPPORTED LIVING PROGRAM PROVIDES TWENTY FOUR HOUR A DAY STAFF SUPPORTS FOR THIRTY INDIVIDUALS. DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL STAFF PROVIDE DIRECT ASSISTANCE APPROPRIATE TO MEET THE NEEDS OF INIVIDUALS IN ALL AREAS OF DAILY LIVING, INCLUDING MEAL PREPARATION, SELF-CARE SKILLS, HOMEMAKING SKILLS, MONEY MANAGEMENT, SAFETY, COMPANIONSHIP AND COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES.
DAY HABILITATION WHICH INCLUDES EXPERIENCES IN THE COMMUNITY, WITH EMPLOYMENT, AND ACTIVITIES IN THE FACILITY SETTING. THE PROGRAM EMPHASIZES WORKING IN THE COMMUNITY IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF REHABILITATION SERVICES AND TENNESSEE'S EMPLOYMENT INITIATIVE. WORK SKILLS AND COMMUNITY SKILLS ARE DISCUSSED, TAUGHT, PRACTICED AND IMPLEMENTED ON A DAILY BASIS ENCOURAGING INDIVIDUALS TO MAKE CHOICES AND EXPRESS PREFERENCES. TRAINING AND CLASSES ARE USED FOR THE RETENTION OR IMPROVEMENTS IN AREAS OF DAILY LIVING, SOCIAL COMMUNICATION, SELF-HELP, AND OTHER ADAPTIVE SKILLS.
