DAY MINISTRY: WOMEN OF ALABASTER (WOA) OFFERS WOMEN A PLACE OF REFUGE PROVIDING MEALS, A QUIET PLACE TO REST, COUNSELING AND PRAYER. DURING 2021, THE DAY MINISTRY OPERATED TWO DAYS A WEEK IN CINCINNATI, WHILE PREPARING A SECOND LOCATION IN HAMILTON, OHIO. PRIOR TO THE PANDEMIC, AVERAGE VISITS PER MONTH TO THE CINCINNATI MINISTRY EXCEEDED 50 WOMEN. WITH HEIGHTENED EMPHASIS ON OUTREACH DURING THE PANDEMIC, THE MINISTRY TEAMS IDENTIFIED AN INCREASED NUMBER OF VICTIMS OF SEX TRAFFICKING IN THE HAMILTON, OH AREA, NORTH OF CINCINNATI. WHILE WOA MAINTAINS AND IS SEEING INCREASED VISITS TO ITS CINCINNATI DAY MINISTRY, A DECISION WAS MADE TO EXPAND SERVICES TO HAMILTON, OH. IN 2021, WOA IDENTIFIED AND STARTED PREPARATIONS FOR A SECOND LOCATION. THE HAMILTON DAY MINISTRY OPENED ITS DOORS IN EARLY 2022, PROVIDING PATHWAYS TO FREEDOM. THROUGH THE DAY MINISTRY PROGRAMS, WOA BUILDS TRUSTING RELATIONSHIPS IN PROVIDING CLIENT TRIPS TO MEDICAL AND LEGAL APPOINTMENTS, ASSISTANCE WITH GROCERIES, AND TRANSPORTATION TO DETOX OR RECOVERY FACILITIES.
AGAPE FARM OPENED IN THE SUMMER OF 2020 TO VICTIMS OF SEX-TRAFFICKING WHO HAVE "GRADUATED" A DETOX PROGRAM, AND ARE READY TO BEGIN LONG TERM RECOVERY. AGAPE FARM IS A RESIDENTIAL FACILITY OPERATED BY WOA IN A COUNTRY SETTING WHERE WOMEN EXPERIENCE FAITH-BASED COUNSELING AND TRAUMA-CENTERED THERAPY. THE WOMEN HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN LIFE SKILLS AND PURSUE EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES.IN 2021, THE AGAPE PROGRAM CELEBRATED WITH ONE OF THE RESIDENTS WHO COMPLETED HER 1ST YEAR IN THE PROGRAM, AND EARNED HER COLLEGE DIPLOMA.
WOA RECOGNIZES MANY OTHER ORGANIZATIONS PROVIDE PATHWAYS TO FREEDOM FOR THE LESS FORTUNATE, INCLUDING THE VICTIMS OF SEX-TRAFFICKING. WOA IS BLESSED WITH VERY GENEROUS DONORS, AND MADE THE DECISION TO "SHARE THE BLESSING" WITH NON-PROFITS WHO HAVE A MISSION IN LINE WITH "PROVIDNG A PATHWAY TO FREEDOM FOR VICTIMS OF SEX-TRAFFICKING." USING 2020 DONATIONS AS THE BASIS, GRANTS WERE PROVIDED TO SIX ORGANIZATIONS IN 2021.
OUTREACH TEAMS CONNECT WITH WOMEN CURRENTLY ON THE STREETS, OFFERING FOOD, TOILETRIES AND PRAYER - MAKING THE INITIAL CONNECTION IN BUILDING TRUSTING RELATIONSHIPS. DURING 2021, THE MINISTRY EXPANDED THE WEEKLY OUTREACH FROM CURRENT LOCATIONS IN OVER-THE RHINE, THE WEST END, PRICE HILL AND COVINGTON, TO AREAS IN HAMILTON, OH. THE OUTREACH IN HAMILTON HAS CONNECTED WITH DOZENS OF WOMEN SEEKING A PATHWAY TO FREEDOM, AND HAS RESULTED IN ESTABLISHING A SECOND DAY MINISTRY IN HAMILTON, OHIO. ONE OF OUR CHURCH PARTNERS PROVIDES AN OUTREACH VAN AT NO COST TO WOA (OTHER THAN FUEL).
