Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
NO-KILL ANIMAL RESCUE THAT PROVIDES SHELTER, CARE, & SPAYING & NEUTERING FOR ABANDONED & ABUSED COMPANION ANIMALS AS THEY TRANSITION TO A LOVING, FOREVER HOME THROUGH ADOPTION. WE PROMOTE RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP & CARE THROUGH EDUCATION & COMMUNITY OUTREACH.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
FUND OPERATING EXPENSES OR SHELTER AND ANIMAL CARE. OUR SHELTER POPULATION HAS SKYROCKETED DUE IN PART TO COVID PANDEMIC. AVERAGE DAILY POPULATION GENERALLY INCLUDES 60 DOGS, 95 CATS AND 5 OTHER DOMESTIC ANIMALS THAT MAY INCLUDE RABBITS, GUINEA PIGS, GOATS OR POT-BELLIED PIGS. BY WORKING WITH LOCAL MUNICIPAL ANIMAL CONTROL AGENCIES, THE EUTHANASIA RATES FOR THE ANIMAL CONTROL AGENCIES HAVE PLUMMETED. MOST ANIMALS ARE PLACED WITH US FOR FUTURE ADOPTION, RATHER THAN EUTHANIZED. IN ADDITION, WE HAVE PROVIDED A SURRENDER OPTION FOR LOCAL PET OWNERS WHO ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO AFFORD THEIR PETS. WE SERVE ECONOMICALLY DEPRESSED COMMUNITIES AND THIS HAPPENS OFTEN.
PROVIDE MEDICAL CARE AND SPAYING AND NEUTERING FOR ALL SHELTER ANIMALS. WE PROVIDED SPAYING AND NEUTERING SERVICES TO MORE THAN 100 ANIMALS IN OUR CARE DURING 2021. IN ADDITIONAL, MULTIPLE ANIMALS REQUIRED ADDITIONAL MEDICAL CARE, TESTING AND VACCINATIONS TO PREPARE THEM FOR ADOPTION. EXTRAORDINARY COSTS INCLUDED EYE REMOVAL, AMPUTATION AND RECONSTRUCTIVE ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY.
PROVIDE COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND EDUCATIONAL SERVIES: WE PARTICIPATE IN MULTIPLE COMMUNITY EVENTS TO DISTRIBUTE EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS AND SPEAK WITH THE PUBLIC ABOUT SPAYING, NEUTERING AND RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP. IN ADDITION, WE HAVE JOINED FORCES WITH A GROUP OF CONCERNED COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND VETERINARIANS IN HOPES OF SECURING ADDITIONAL OPTIONS FOR LOCAL VETERINARIAN CARE AND AFFORDABLE SPAY AND NEUTER SERVICES.
