THE MISSION OF THE MILLARD VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT IS TO PROTECT THE LIVES AND PROPERTY OF THE PEOPLE OF THE MILLARD AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES FROM FIRES, NATURAL DISASTERS, AND HAZARDOUS MATERIALS INCIDENTS TO SAVE LIVES BY PROVIDING EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES TO PREVENT FIRES THROUGH PREVENTION AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS.

MESVFD IS A VOLUMTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT WITH AN ISO RATING OF 5. THE DEPARTMENT RESPONDED TO 375 EMERGENCY CALLS DURING 2022. THE DEPARTMENT IS ALSO A VOLUNTEER RESCUE SQUAD AND HAS INVESTED MONEY IN RESCUE EQUIPMENT INCLUDING JAWS OF LIFE, DRONE EQUIPMENT AND WATER RESCUE.
