RUGGLES CAMP & RETREAT CENTER, INC. IS A RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATION OWNED BY THE KENTUCKY CONFERENCE OF THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH WHICH OPERATES UNDER THE CHURCH'S GROUP RULING ISSUED BY ITS COUNCIL ON FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION. RUGGLES SPONSORS A RELIGIOUS CAMP MEETING HELD FOR 12 DAYS EACH YEAR IN JULY. IT ALSO SPONSORS THREE YOUTH CAMPS FOR SENIOR, JUNIOR HIGH & ELEMENTARY CHILDREN AND MAKES THE GROUNDS AVAILABLE FOR OTHER YOUTH CAMPS, RETREATS, REVIVALS, HOME COMINGS, CONFERENCE MEETINGS AND OTHER CHURCH SPONSORED EVENTS FOR DONATIONS TO COVER UTILITIES. THE LIMESTONE OHIO VALLEY EMMAUS COMMUNITY BASED IN MAYSVILLE USES THE GROUNDS FOR RETREATS, CALLED "WALKS".

WE HELD OUR TRADITIONAL TWELVE DAY ANNUAL CAMP MEETING IN JULY, 2022. AVERAGE ATTENDANCE WAS 96 AND OFFERINGS TOGETHER WITH CASH ON HAND WERE MORE THAN ENOUGH TO TAKE CARE OF THE CAMP MEETING EXPENSES. SURPLUS REVENUE GENERATED BY THIS PROGRAM SERVICE WAS ADEQUATE TO OFFSET THE REVENUE DEFICIT OF PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENT TWO AND THREE. ADDITIONAL OFFERINGS WERE COMBINED WITH OTHER DONATIONS MADE AVAILABLE DURING THE REMAINDER OF THE YEAR TO MEET MANY OF THE ANNUAL OPERATIONAL EXPENSES.


GENERAL IMPROVEMENT, MAINTENANCE, INSURANCE AND UTILITIES TO SUPPORT ALL PROGRAM SERVICES.


ELEMENTARY MARKETPLACE CAMP WAS HELD JUNE 21-JUNE 23, 2022. 70 ADULT VOLUNTEERS PARTICIPATED. ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTEEN YOUTH FROM THE LOCAL AREA AND SURROUNDING COUNTIES ATTENDED THE CAMP. OFFERINGS AND CASH ON HAND WERE MORE THAN ADEQUATE TO MEET THE REVENUE DEFICIT OF THIS PROGRAM SERVICE. THE CAMP WAS CONSIDERED SUCCESSFUL.


JUNIOR AND SENIOR CAMPS WERE HELD JULY 18-29, 2022. THIRTY FIVE VOLUNTEERS PARTICIPATED IN THE CAMPS ALONG WITH TWO DEANS AND NINE COUNSELORS. TOTAL SENIOR AND JUNIOR PARTICIPATION INCLUDED FORTY EIGHT CAMPERS. OFFERINGS AND CASH ON HAND WERE MORE THAN ADEQUATE TO MEET THE REVENUE DEFICIT OF THIS PROGRAM SERVICE. THE CAMPS WERE DEEMED SUCCESSFUL.
