THE PURPOSE OF KFIA IS TO PROMOTE THE ECONOMIC WELFARE AND INTERESTS OF KENTUCKY'S WOOD INDUSTRY. THE ASSOCIATION HAS A WIDE RANGE OF MEMBERSHIP AND IS DESIGNED TO ASSIST PRIMARY AND SECONDARY LANDOWNERS, LOGGERS, AND SERVICE INDUSTRY MEMBERS. CONSERVATION, SUSTAINING QUALITY FOREST RESOURCES FOR THE FUTURE AND WORKING WITH AGENCIES AND PROGRAMS TO PROMOTE THE FUTURE OF THE INDUSTRY WHILE PROTECTING ALL FOREST USERS ARE THE MAJOR GOALS OF KFIA.

THE KENTUCKY WOOD EXPO IS A REGIONAL WOOD PRODUCT AND EDUCATIONAL SHOW ORGANIZED BY KFIA THAT IS ATTENDED BY APPROXIMATELY 3,600 PEOPLE AND HELD BI-ANNUALLY. THE SHOW EDUCATES PEOPLE IN THE WOOD INDUSTRY, AS WELL AS, THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO NEW INDUSTRY TECHNOLOGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION MEASURES.
KFIA PROVIDES MEETINGS, SEMINARS AND CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMS TO KEEP ITS MEMBERS EDUCATED IN SUCH AREAS AS SAFETY AND FOREST MANAGEMENT, AND IS ATTENDED BY APPROXIMATELY 700 PEOPLE EACH YEAR.
