THE MISSION AND PURPOSE OF THE SFFC (SOMERSET FAMILY FITNESS CENTER, INC) IS TO PUT CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES INTO ACTION THROUGH PROGRAMS THAT BUILD HEALTHY SPIRIT, MIND AND BODY FOR ALL. SFFC PROGRAMS FOCUS ON FOUR CORE VALUES - CARING, HONESTY, RESPECT, AND RESPONSIBILITY. WE SERVE MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN OF ALL AGES, RACES, ABILITIES, INCOMES AND RELIGIONS. WE PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO THOSE WHO NEED IT. WE IDENTIFY NEEDS WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY AND RESPOND TO THEM SO THAT THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY BENEFITS FROM OUR EFFORTS. SFFC SPORTS AND RECREATION CLASSES EMPHASIZE FOUR CHARACTER TRAITS; CARING, HONESTY, RESPECT, AND RESPONSIBILITY. THESE PROGRAMS STRIVE TO BUILD TEAMWORK AND SELF ESTEEM FROM WITHIN EACH YOUTH OR ADULT THAT PARTICIPATES. PROGRAMS INCLUDED YOUTH AND ADULT BASKETBALL, SOCCER, SENIOR FITNESS PROGRAM, YOGA, YOUTH INTRODUCTION TO FITNESS, AND ADULT DANCE.
THE SFFC CONTINUES TO PROVIDE UP TO 2 HOURS BABYSITTING/CHILDCARE SERVICE TO ALL MEMBERS THAT HAVE CHILDREN 0-12 YEARS OF AGE, WHILE THE PARENT IS PARTICIPATING IN ANY SFFC ACTIVITY.
SFFC AQUATICS PROGRAM ARE PART OF THE OVERALL GOAL OF BUILDING HEALTHY SPIRIT, MIND AND BODY. IN ADDITION TO PROVIDING SPECIFIC SWIMMING AND WATER SAFETY SKILLS, THEY PROMOTE GOOD HEALTH THROUGH REGULAR EXERCISE. THEY ALSO PROMOTE TEAMWORK, SELF-CONFIDENCE, AND LEADERSHIP. THESE PROGRAMS ARE OFFERED AT FEES AFFORDABLE TO THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE, WITH FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR THOSE NEEDING IT.
WE OFFER A LIFELONG PROGRESSION OF MEDICALLY BASED HEALTH AND FITNESS ACTIVITIES, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION. WE STRIVE TO PROVIDE A WELCOMED ATMOSPHERE WHERE NEW AND EXPERIENCED EXERCISERS ALIKE CAN FEEL COMFORTABLE AND RECEIVE THE SUPPORT THEY NEED TO IMPROVE THEIR HEALTH. OUR MEMBERSHIP PACKAGE BOASTS OVER 65 CARDIO, AEROBIC, AQUA FITNESS, SENIOR FITNESS, AND YOGA CLASSES THAT ARE FREE TO ALL MEMBERS. SFFC FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE POLICIES HELP LOW INCOME PEOPLE, WHO ARE LESS LIKELY TO EXERCISE AND HAVE ADEQUATE HEALTH CARE, GAIN USE OF THEIR COMMUNITY SFFC.
