THE MISSION OF THE HOBE SOUND COMMUNITY CHEST IS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR AND TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL, ADVISORY AND VOLUNTEER SUPPORT TO THOSE QUALIFYING NONPROFIT SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCIES THAT CONTRIBUTE TO THE SUSTAINED IMPROVEMENTS IN THE LIVES OF NEEDY PEOPLE IN THE HOBE SOUND COMMUNITY

THE HOBE SOUND COMMUNITY CHEST ISSUES GRANTS TO OTHER NON-PROFITORGANIZATIONS WHO, THROUGH THEIR SERVICES, ENHANCE THE QUALITYOF LIFE FOR RESIDENTS OF HOBE SOUND. THE SCOPE OF THESE SERVICES MAY BE BASED IN CHILD CARE, EDUCATION, YOUTH RECREATION, FOOD AND SHELTER, OR OTHER AREAS WHICH WILL HAVE A DIRECT IMPACTFOR THE GREATER GOOD OF THE COMMUNITY. THE ORGANIZATIONSUPPORTED FORTY FOUR SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS IN THE CURRENT FISCAL YEAR.HOBE SOUND STRONG START IS AN INITIATIVE ATTEMPTING TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF HOBE SOUND CHILDREN READY TO LEARN WHEN THEY ENTER KINDERGARDEN. THE CHEST IS AWARDING SCHOLARSHIPS TO QUALITY EARLY LEARNING CENTERS TO CHILDREN WITH ECONOMIC NEED, SUPPORTING COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN WHO CANNOT ATTEND CENTERS, BRINGING ARTS, MUSIC, AND ATHLETIC PROGRAMS TO THE CENTERS, AND HELPING CENTERS BUILD MORE SPACE TO SERVE CHILDREN. THE GOAL IS THAT BY 2025 EVERY HOBE SOUND PRESCHOOLER WILL HAVE A PLACE TO LEARN AND THE MEANS TO ATTEND.
