THE ASSOCIATION IS A LEARNED SOCIETY OF LAW SCHOOLS AND LAW PROFESSORS. THE MISSION OF THE ASSOCIATION IS EXPRESSED IN ITS CHARTER. IT IS TO IMPROVE LEGAL EDUCATION GLOBALLY BY LEARNING FROM EACH OTHER. THE ASSOCIATION BRINGS TOGETHER LAW SCHOOLS AND FACULTY FROM AROUND THE WORLD TO FOSTER DIALOGUE ON THE CHALLENGES FACING EDUCATION AND LEGAL EDUCATION IN PARTICULAR. OUR MISSION IS TO DEVELOP THOUGHTFUL PERSPECTIVES ON HOW TO IMPROVE AND ESTABLISH STANDARDS FOR LEGAL EDUCATION. WE SERVE AS A FORUM AND CRITERIA SETTING BODY FOR DISCOURSE AND SCHOLARSHIP FOR LEGAL EDUCATION.

THE ASSOCIATION CONDUCTS A VARIETY OF PROGRAMS TO ENGAGE LAW STUDENTS AND SURVEY THEIR OPINIONS AND PERSPECTIVES ON THE LEGAL EDUCATION THEY ARE RECEIVING.
THE ASSOCIATION HAS 11 DOCTRINAL STUDY GROUPS FOR FACULTY MEMBERS. THEY COVER THE 11 BASIC LEGAL AREAS - CONTRACTS PROPERTY CIVIL PROCEDURE ETC. EACH GROUP STUDIES RESEARCHES DELIBERATES AND PUBLISHES THEIR WORK THROUGH A RIGOROUS PEER REVIEW PROCESS
