THE MISSION OF THE VILLAGES REGIONAL HOSPITAL ("UFHV") IS TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH AND QUALITY OF LIFE OF THE PATIENTS AND COMMUNITIES WE SERVE.

THE VILLAGES REGIONAL HOSPITAL ("UFHV"): UFHV IS AN ACUTE CARE HOSPITAL LOCATED IN THE VILLAGES, FLORIDA. UFHV HAS BEEN SERVING RESIDENTS OF THE VILLAGES AS WELL AS PATIENTS IN LAKE, SUMTER, AND MARION COUNTIES SINCE 2002. UFHV OFFERS 24-HOUR EMERGENT DIAGNOSTIC AND TREATMENT SERVICES TO PATIENTS PRESENTING WITH ACUTE ISCHEMIC STROKE AND OTHER NEUROVASCULAR DISORDERS. UFHV EARNED THE JOINT COMMISSION'S GOLD SEAL OF APPROVAL AND THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION/AMERICAN STROKE ASSOCIATION'S HEART-CHECK MARK FOR ADVANCED CERTIFICATION FOR PRIMARY STROKE CENTERS. JOINT COMMISSION EXPERTS EVALUATE COMPLIANCE WITH STROKE-RELATED STANDARDS AND REQUIREMENTS, INCLUDING PROGRAM MANAGEMENT, THE DELIVERY OF CLINICAL CARE AND PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT. UFHV ALSO PROVIDES INPATIENT REHABILITATION SERVICES. LOCATED ON THE HOSPITAL'S FIFTH FLOOR. THE 30-BED ACUTE INPATIENT REHABILITATION FACILITY FEATURES A PHYSICAL THERAPY GYM, COMMUNAL DINING HALL, AND AN ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIVING (ADL) SUITE. PATIENTS WHO SUFFER FROM CONDITIONS INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, STROKE, SPINAL CORD INJURY, AMPUTATION, BRAIN INJURY, AND NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS RECEIVE AROUND-THE-CLOCK CARE, ADVANCED PHYSICAL THERAPY, OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY, SPEECH PATHOLOGY, SOCIAL SERVICES, CASE MANAGEMENT, NEUROPSYCHOLOGY, AND MORE. THE REHABILITATION PROGRAM IS ACCREDITED BY THE COMMISSION ON ACCREDITATION OF REHABILITATION FACILITIES (CARF). THIS DESIGNATION REPRESENTS THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF ACCREDITATION THAT CAN BE AWARDED TO A REHABILITATION FACILITY. TO EARN A THREE-YEAR ACCREDITATION, THE FACILITY UNDERWENT A RIGOROUS PEER REVIEW PROCESS AND DEMONSTRATED TO A TEAM OF SURVEYORS DURING AN ON-SITE VISIT THAT ITS PROGRAMS AND SERVICES ARE ACCOUNTABLE, MEASURABLE, AND OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY. IN ADDITION TO BEING ACCREDITED BY THE JOINT COMMISSION, UFHV HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED FOR EXCELLENCE IN PATIENT CARE AND WORKPLACE HEALTH. THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF CARDIOLOGY AWARDED UFHV ITS HIGHEST CHEST PAIN CENTER ACCREDITATION AND U.S. NEWS AND WORLD REPORT HAS RATED SEVERAL OF THE HOSPITAL'S CLINICAL AREAS AS "HIGH PERFORMING." IN 2019, BECKER'S HOSPITAL REVIEW NAMED UFHV ON ITS LIST OF THE 150 TOP PLACES TO WORK IN HEALTHCARE.
