PEACE ORGANIZED 750 COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO COME TOGETHER OVER ZOOM AND AT THE SILVERMOON DRIVE-IN THEATRE TO RECEIVE COMMITMENTS FROM THE MAYOR MUTZ OF LAKELAND AND COMMISSIONERS MADDEN AND MAYOR MUTZ TO ADDRESS ISSUES ON SUBSTANDARD HOURING.
PEACE TRAINED LEADERS FROM DIVERSE DENOMINATIONAL, RACIAL, AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC BACKGROUNDS TO BUILD RELATIONSHIPS AND WORK TOGETHER ON COMMUNITY PROBLEMS THAT THEY ARE AFFECTED BY. THROUGH SMALL GROUP MEETINGS, PEACE HAS FOSTERED CROSS-RACIAL UNITY. IN 2022, 300 PEOPLE PARTICIPATED IN THESE DISCUSSIONS.
PEACE TRAINED 100 RESIDENTS TO BECOME LEADERS BY ORGANIZING MEMBERS OF THEIR CONGREGATIONS INTO NETWORKS, OR SYSTEMS OF RELATIONSHIPS, THAT WORK TO IMPROVE THE COMMUNITY. WHEN LARGE NUMBERS OF PEOPLE ARE NEEDED TO ADDRESS A SPECIFIC COMMUNITY PROBLEM, THESE TRAINED LEADERS ACTIVELY ENGAGE THEIR NETWORKS TO PARTICIPATE IN COMMUNITY ACTION EVENTS.
