THE MOFFITT CANCER CENTER FOUNDATION WAS FOUNDED IN 1994 WITH THE SOLE PURPOSE OF SUPPORTING RESEARCH, PATIENT CARE AND EDUCATION AT H. LEE MOFFITT CANCER CENTER & RESEARCH INSTITUTE. IT IS A TAX-EXEMPT CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION UNDER SECTION 501(C)(3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE AND IS AUTHORIZED TO ACCEPT CHARITABLE GIFTS ON BEHALF OF H. LEE MOFFITT CANCER CENTER & RESEARCH INSTITUTE. ALL CONTRIBUTIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE WITHIN THE LIMITS SET BY LAW.PHILANTHROPY IS CRITICAL TO THE MOFFITT MISSION - TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE PREVENTION AND CURE OF CANCER - AND PHILANTHROPIC DONATIONS ARE DISSEMINATED ACROSS A WIDE SPECTRUM OF MOFFITT PROGRAMS AND SERVICES.MOFFITT FOUNDATION SOLICITS AND WELCOMES FINANCIAL GIFTS FROM DONORS WHO WISH TO SUPPORT THE WORK OF THE CANCER CENTER. GIFTS ALSO MAY BE DIRECTED FOR USE IN AN AREA OF GREATEST NEED.THE MONEY RAISED BY THE FOUNDATION IS DISTRIBUTED FOR SUCH THINGS ASTHE PURCHASE OF ADVANCED TECHNOLOGICAL EQUIPMENT, SUPPORT FOR RESEARCH LABORATORIES AND SUPPLIES, CANCER EDUCATION AND OUTREACH, LODGING, BIOMEDICAL LIBRARY, HEALTH DISPARITIES, SURVIVORSHIP AND INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE PROGRAMS.IN FY22, MOFFITT FOUNDATION'S THREE LARGEST FUNDRAISING EVENTS ARE ASFOLLOWS:2022 MOFFITT CANCER CENTER LUNCHEON -THE 2022 MOFFITT CANCER CENTER LUNCHEON WAS AN IN-PERSON EVENT HELD AT A PRIVATE RESIDENCE IN SARASOTA ON MARCH 10TH. THE EVENT RAISED MORE THAN $150,000 FOR MOFFITT AND WAS CHAIRED BY SARASOTA RESIDENT AND FOUNDATION BOARD MEMBER, EILEEN CURD. GUESTS AT THE LUNCHEON HEARD FROM KEYNOTE SPEAKER DR. PATRICK HWU, MOFFITT'S CEO AND DR. DANA ATAYA, DIVISION OF MOFFITT'S BREAST IMAGING CENTER. FUNDS RAISED EACH YEAR AT THE MOFFITT CANCER CENTER LUNCHEON IN SARASOTA SUPPORTS MOFFITT'S RESEARCH INNOVATION FUND. THE FUND ESTABLISHED IN 2020 PROVIDES SEED FUNDING FOR KEY INITIATIVES INCLUDING RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT STUDIES, CLINICAL TRIALS, AND TREATMENTS AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE NEXT SCIENTIFIC BREAKTHROUGH FOR OUR PATIENTS. MILES FOR MOFFITT - MILES FOR MOFFITT IS MOFFITT CANCER CENTER'S PREMIER MOVEMENT FOR RAISING FUNDS TO TOUCH LIVES AND PROPEL US TOWARD A CANCER-FREE WORLD. SINCE 2006, MOFFITT CANCER CENTER SUPPORTERS HAVE COME TOGETHER TO RAISE CRITICAL FUNDS FOR CANCER RESEARCH IN A COMMUNITY-WIDE MOVEMENT OF INSPIRATION, COURAGE, AND HOPE THAT THOUSANDS OF INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES LOOK FORWARD TO EVERY YEAR. THE EVENT WELCOMES EVERYONE AND BRINGS THE WHOLE COMMUNITY TOGETHER, INCLUDING FAMILIES, PATIENTS, SURVIVORS, WALKERS, WHEELCHAIR RACERS, COMPETITIVE RUNNERS, ADVOCATES, AND TAMPA BAY'S CORPORATE LEADERS AND THEIR EMPLOYEES. SINCE 2006, MILES FOR MOFFITT HAS RAISED MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TOWARD ADVANCING CANCER RESEARCH, HELPING MOFFITT SUSTAIN AND ADVANCE ITS STATUS AS ONE OF THE BEST CANCER CENTERS IN THE COUNTRY AND THE ONLY NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE-DESIGNATED COMPREHENSIVE CANCER CENTER IN FLORIDA.MAGNOLIA BALL EVENT - THE MAGNOLIA BALL RETURNED LIVE ON MAY 21, 2022, DRAWING A LARGE CROWD AT A NEW VENUE - THE JW MARRIOTT IN DOWNTOWN TAMPA. THE EVENT, HOSTED BY ABC ACTION NEWS' DEIAH RILEY, RAISED OVER THREE MILLION DOLLARS TO SUPPORT MOFFITT CANCER CENTER. SINCE 1994, THE MAGNOLIA BALL, THE CANCER CENTER'S SIGNATURE EVENT, HAS RAISED TENS OF MILLIONS FOR MOFFITT'S CANCER-FIGHTING EFFORTS. MOFFITT CHAMPIONS, CHRIS AND SANDI SULLIVAN CHAIRED THE EVENT. A PRIVATE CONCERT BY PAT BENETAR AND NEIL GIRALDO ENTERTAINED THE CROWD FOLLOWED BY AN 80'S THEMED AFTER-PARTY BY DJ FRESH.
