Part 3

BEAR LAKE PRESERVATION ASSOCIATION (BLPA) REPRESENTS THE RESIDENTS OF LAKE ASHER, BEAR LAKE, LITTLE BEAR LAKE AND CUB LAKE. NEWSLETTERS, BROCHURES AND FLYERS ARE WRITTEN AND PRODUCED PERIODICALLY BY BLPA AND MAILED TO ALL THE LAKE RESIDENTS IN THE FOUR LAKES AREA. WE MAINTAIN AND UPDATE THE BLPA WEBSITE PERIODICALLY. THESE FORMS OF COMMUNICATION KEEP THE LAKE RESIDENTS CURRENT ON THE HEALTH AND QUALITY OF THE LAKE WATERS. BEAR LAKE PRESERVATION ASSOCIATION VOLUNTEERS SUBMIT MONTHLY LAKE WATER SAMPLES TO UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA IFAS LAKE WATCH FOR ANALYSIS AND REPORTS OF LAKE WATER CONDITIONS FOR ALL FOUR LAKES. ADDITIONALLY, BLPA MAINTAINS A HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP WITH THE SEMINOLE COUNTY COMMISSIONER FOR THE FOUR LAKES AREA. BLPA VOLUNTEERS WORK CLOSELY WITH SEMINOLE COUNTY STORM WATER ENGINEERS AND SJRWMD OFFICIALS TO INSURE THE LAKE RESIDENTS' CONCERNS ARE CONVEYED TO EACH GOVERNING BODY. IN EARLY 2023 BLPA, WITH THE COOPERATION OF HALLIDAY PRODUCTS, DESIGNED AND FABRICATED AN ALUMINUM CARP GRATE. THE CARP GRATE STRUCTURE WAS PERMANENTLY INSTALLED BY BLPA MEMBERS. THIS PROJECT ENSURES ONGOING LAKE HEALTH AND PRESERVATION OF LAKE WATER QUALITY. CURRENTLY, THE ALUM TREATMENT OF BEAR LAKE IN JUNE OF 2022 IS BEING MONITORED AND REVIEWED FOR POSSIBLE RETREATMENT.
