INTERNATIONAL VISITOR LEADERSHIP PROGRAM: THE INTERNATIONAL VISITOR LEADERSHIP PROGRAM IS THE OLDEST AND LARGEST PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP IN THE UNITED STATES. CONCEIVED IN THE YEARS FOLLOWING WWII, THE INTERNATIONAL VISITOR LEADERSHIP PROGRAM BUILDS BRIDGES BETWEEN THE LEADERS OF THE WORLD'S NATIONS TO PROMOTE COOPERATION, DEVELOPMENT, AND PEACE. GLOBALJAX MANAGES THE NORTH FLORIDA PORTION OF THIS PROGRAM INCLUDING JACKSONVILLE, SAINT AUGUSTINE, TALLAHASSEE, AND GAINESVILLE. THIS PROGRAM YEAR, 20 PROGRAMS FOR OVER 150 EMERGING LEADERS IN 50+ COUNTRIES THAT ADDRESSED TOPICS OF URGENT IMPORTANCE IN RESPONSE TO THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC INCLUDING PUBLIC HEALTH, PREVENTING GENDER BASED VIOLENCE, DISTANCE LEARNING, AND UNEMPLOYMENT.
IRAQI YOUNG LEADERS EXCHANGE PROGRAM: THE IRAQI YOUNG LEADERS EXCHANGE PROGRAM TAKES PLACE EACH SUMMER IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ONE OF THE UNITED STATES' LEADING GLOBAL EXCHANGE AND DEVELOPMENT AGENCIES, WORLD LEARNING. LAST PROGRAM YEAR, GLOBALJAX HOSTED 14 YOUNG LEADERS, PLUS 3 ADULT MENTORS, FROM EVERY REGION AND DEMOGRAPHIC OF IRAQ FOR A PROGRAM FOCUSED ON BUILDING YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS TO IMPROVE THE UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IN THAT COUNTRY. THE RESULTS ARE A MORE HOPEFUL FUTURE FOR THOSE YOUNG LEADERS, THEIR COMMUNITIES, AND THEIR COUNTRY AND DEEPER ECONOMIC AND DIPLOMATIC TIES TO NORTH FLORIDA.
OPEN WORLD LEADERSHIP PROGRAM: THE OPEN WORLD LEADERSHIP PROGRAM IN NORTH FLORIDA IS THE RESULT OF A DECADES LONG PARTNERSHIP WITH THE OPEN WORLD LEADERSHIP CENTER AT THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS. THE PROGRAM FOCUSES ON DEVELOPING DEEPER TIES TO THE FORMER SOVIET REGION IN AN ATTEMPT TO DEEPEN DIPLOMATIC AND ECONOMIC TIES. THIS FISCAL YEAR WE WORKED ON PROJECTS FOCUSED ON IMPROVING THE RIGHTS OF WOMEN IN AZERBAIJAN, EDUCATION IN LITHUANIA AND THE TEACHING OF NURSING IN ROMANIA.
