PART I, LINE 1 PROJECT YOUTHBUILD'S MISSION IS TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF YOUNG PEOPLE LIVING IN OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH EDUCATION, EMPLOYMENT AND ADVOCACY. PROJECT YOUTHBUILD IS OPERATED THROUGH A GRANT AWARD DIRECTLY FROM THE US DEPARTMENT OF LABOR. PART III, LINE 1 PROJECT YOUTHBUILD PROVIDES WORK-READINESS TRAINING, SOFT SKILLS DEVELOPMENT, CASE MANAGEMENT, CAREER DEVELOPMENT AND OTHER SERVICES TO HELP YOUNG PEOPLE ADDRESS BARRIERS TO EDUCATIONAL AND EMPLOYMENT SUCCESS.

PROJECT YOUTHBUILD: ESTABLISHED IN 2009, PROJECT YOUTHBUILD AMERICORPS IS A 9-MONTH EDUCATIONAL,OCCUPATIONAL, PRE-APPRENTICESHIP, AND LEADERSHIP PROGRAM FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AGES 16-24 WHO HAVE A LOW INCOME AND HAVE DROPPED OUT OF SCHOOL. WHILE ENROLLED IN PROJECT YOUTHBUILD, YOUNG PEOPLE HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO EARN THEIR HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA, NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED CONSTRUCTION AND HEALTH CARE CREDENTIALS, AND AN EDUCATION AWARD TO BE USED FOR POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION OR TRADES SCHOOL. YOUNG PEOPLE PARTICIPATE IN A LEADERSHIP PROGRAM HELPING PREPARE THEM FOR CIVIC ENGAGEMENT AND EMPLOYMENT. LASTLY, YOUNG PEOPLE SPEND NEARLY HALF OF THEIR TIME COMPLETING HANDS ON TRAINING RENOVATING AFFORDABLE HOUSING IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY.
