THE PRIMARY EXEMPT PURPOSE OF CAREERSOURCE PALM BEACH COUNTY, INC. IS CRAFTING AND OVERSEEING A WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY THAT IS RESPONSIVE TO THE NEEDS AND CONCERNS OF EMPLOYERS AND JOB SEEKERS.

DEPARTMENT OF LABOR - WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT (WIOA)- ADULT AND DISLOCATED WORKER 2021-2022 CAREERSOURCE PALM BEACH COUNTY HAD 705 ACTIVE ADULT AND DISLOCATED WORKERS WHO RECEIVED CAREER SERVICES TRAINING SERVICES AND VARIOUS TYPES OF ASSESSMENTS TO ASSIST THEM WITH CAREER PLANNING DURING THE 2021-2022 PROGRAM YEAR. OF THOSE INDIVIDUALS, 160 WERE NEW RECIPIENTS OF INDIVIDUAL TRAINING ACCOUNTS (ITAS) WITH ENCUMBRANCES OF $347,209.53. IN ADDITION, 33 TRAINEES WERE ENROLLED IN THE ON- THE-JOB TRAINING (OJT) PROGRAM WITH A TOTAL OF $204,600.53 REIMBURSED TO EMPLOYERS. OF THE 117 INDIVIDUALS SCHEDULED TO COMPLETE THEIR TRAINING DURING THIS PROGRAM YEAR, A TOTAL OF 105 (90%) DID SO. A TOTAL OF 394 WIOA ADULT AND DISLOCATED WORKERS OR 56% EXITED THE PROGRAM WITH A POSITIVE OUTCOME OF EMPLOYMENT.
DEPARTMENT OF LABOR - WORKFORCE INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY ACT (WIOA) - YOUTH 2021 - 2022 CAREERSOURCE PALM BEACH COUNTY'S YOUNG ADULT PROGRAM SERVES YOUNG ADULTS AGES 16 - 24. OUR PROGRAM INCLUDES CAREER EXPLORATION, JOB PREPARATION, FINANCIAL LITERACY, SOFT SKILLS TRAINING, PAID WORK EXPERIENCE, AND MORE. THE PROGRAM ALSO PROVIDES YOUNG ADULTS WITH VALUABLE TRAINING IN HOSPITALITY, WHICH IS A HIGH-DEMAND INDUSTRY IN PALM BEACH COUNTY. UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF TRAINING, PROGRAM CLIENTS ARE AWARDED CREDENTIALS WHICH INCREASE THEIR EMPLOYABILITY WHEN COMPETING FOR JOB OPPORTUNITIES IN OUR COMMUNITY. DURING PROGRAM YEAR 2021-2022, THE YOUNG ADULT PROGRAM HAD A TOTAL OF 103 ENROLLED PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS, AND OF THOSE THAT EXITED 35% HAD A POSITIVE OUTCOME. COLLECTIVELY, THERE WERE 126 CREDENTIALS EARNED. THE PROGRAM ALSO RECORDED PLACEMENTS FOR 167 PARTICIPANTS AND ISSUED 18 SCHOLARSHIPS FOR POST-SECONDARY TRAINING.
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES - TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDY FAMILIES (TANF) - PROGRAM YEAR 2021 - 2022. CAREERSOURCE PALM BEACH COUNTY HAD 2,052 OPEN TANF CASES THROUGHOUT THE PROGRAM YEAR, AND 494 (24.1%) WERE WORK ENGAGED. REGION 21 ACHIEVED 22.4% FOR THE ENTERED EMPLOYMENT RATE WITH AN AVERAGE ENTERED EMPLOYMENT WAGE RATE OF $14.92, WHICH IS A $1.31 INCREASE FROM LAST PROGRAM YEAR. THE ALL FAMILY PARTICIPATION RATE WAS 23.4%, RANKING #2 IN THE STATE, AND THE TWO PARENT PARTICIPATION RATE WAS 26.8%, RANKING SECOND PLACE IN THE STATE FOR THIS MEASURE, AS WELL.
