THE MISSION OF PENSACOLA OPERA IS TO ENRICH THE CULTURE OF NORTHWEST FLORIDA BY PRODUCING PROFESSIONAL OPERA PERFORMANCES, EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND OTHER OPERA-RELATED COMMUNITY EVENTS FOR PEOPLE OF ALL AGES, INTERESTS AND BACKGROUNDS.

2020 MAINSTAGE PRODUCTIONS AS ONE ON NOVEMBER WERE MOZART'S DON GIOVANNI ON JANUARY 24 AND 26, 2020 AND VERDI'S IL TROVATORE WHICH WAS CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19. IL TROVATORE WAS ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED FOR MARCH 13 AND 15, 2020. PERFORMANCES WERE PRESENTED AT THE SAENGER THEATRE. IN ADDITION, PENSACOLA OPERA WAS AWARDED A SUNDAY'S CHILD GRANT AND PERFORMED AS ONE ON NOVEMBER
DURING THE 2019/2020 SEASON, 135 EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMS REACHED OVER 25,000 STUDENTS, TEACHERS, ADMINISTRATORS, AND ADULTS. THE ENCHANTED FOREST, WHO WANTS TO BE AN OPERA STAR?, OPERA UP CLOSE, AND FROM WORDS TO MUSIC REACHED 14,500 STUDENTS AND TEACHERS. DUE TO COVID-19, SEVERAL PERFORMANCES WERE CANCELLED AT LOCAL COMMUNITY EVENTS AND SCHOOLS. EDUCATIONAL LUNCHEONS, BROWN BAG OPERA, POURS AND ENCORES, OPERA AFTER DARK, RECITALS AND OPERA POP-UP PERFORMANCES REACHED OVER 10,000 AUDIENCE MEMBERS. VIRTUAL SUMMER CAMPS SERVED 8 CAMPERS.
