THE PURPOSE OF THE ASSOCIATION IS TO CARRY OUT A PUBLIC RELATIONS AND ADVERTISING PROGRAM WHICH WILL DIRECTLY PROMOTE THE SALE AND USE OF FLORIDA-GROWN PEANUTS, RESULTING IN INCREASED MARKET DEMAND.

PROMOTION: FLORIDA PEANUT PRODUCERS ASSOCIATION IS INVOLVED IN A VARIETY OF PROMOTIONAL ACTIVITIES AND ALL PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO INCREASE THE COMSUMPTION OF PEANUTS AND PEANUT PRODUCTS. ACCOMPLISHMENT: CONSUMPTION OF PEANUT BUTTER IS UP 10% FROM JULY OF 2008. WE HOPE OUR PROMOTION EFFORTS CONTINUE TO HAVE AN IMPACT ON CONSUMPTION.
RESEARCH: FLORIDA PEANUT PRODUCERS ASSOCIATION FUNDS PEANUT PRODUCTION RESEARCH THROUGH THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA AND OTHER PEANUT RESEARCH INSTITUTIONS. THE GOAL OF PRODUCTION RESEARCH IS TO DEVELOP NEW VARIETIES WHICH HAVE HIGH YIELDING POTENTIAL, INCREASED DISEASE RESISTANCE, DROUGHT TOLERANCE, ETC... TO HELP FARMERS REDUCE PRODUCTION COSTS AND INCREASE PROFITS. ACCOMPLISHMENTS: MANY NEW VARIETIES OF PEANUTS HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED AS THE RESULT OF OUR RESEARCH FUNDING EFFORTS.
EDUCATION: FLORIDA PEANUT PRODUCERS ASSOCIATION PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR FARMERS THROUGH CONFERENCES, FIELD DAYS, SOUTHEASTERN PEANUT FARMER MAGAZINE AND MANY OTHER PRINTED MATERIALS. ACCOMPLISHMENTS: KEEP FARMERS INFORMED OF THE MOST UP-TO-DATE TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS IN PEANUT PRODUCTION.
