"MEALS ON WHEELS OF SARASOTA DELIVERS NUTRITIOUS MEALS TO PERSONS IN NEED IN THE SARASOTA COMMUNITY WHO ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE OR PREPARE A MEAL FOR THEMSELVES IN THEIR HOMES.VOLUNTEERS DELIVER HOT MEALS TO THE CLIENTS SIX DAYS A WEEK. IN 2021, A DONATION OF $6.00 WAS REQUESTED, BUT THE ORGANIZATION SERVES ALL, REGARDLESS OF THE ABILITY TO PAY.OVER 160,000 MEALS ARE SERVED ANNUALLY TO PEOPLE IN NEED. ONLY 18% OF THE CLIENTS WERE ABLE TO MAKE ANY FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION, AND MEALS ON WHEELS SUBSIDIZED THE REMAINING 82%."
