SEMINOLE COUNTY FARM BUREAU CONSTANTLY WORKS TO BUILD COALITIONS WITH OTHER AGRICULTURAL ORGANIZATIONS. MANY YEARS OF HARD WORK HAVE PROVIDED MANY VALUABLE RELATIONSHIPS INCLUDING SEMINOLE CATTLEMEN, AND THE CITRUS INDUSTRY. THE COALITION WITH IFAS AND SEMINOLE CATTLEMEN GIVE US THE OPPORTUNITY TO HOLD THE SPRING RANCH FORUM. THIS FORUM PROVIDES A PLACE FOR RANCHERS AND FARMERS TO RECEIVE UP-TO DATE INFORMATION ABOUT THE RANCH INDUSTRY FROM SOME OF THE MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE SCIENTISTS AND RESEARCHERS IN THE BUSINESS. FARM BUREAU IS A MAJOR CONTRIBUTING SPONSOR, AND USES THIS TIME TO REACH OUT TO POTENTIAL MEMBERS AND THE LEADERSHIP FROM OTHER ORGANIZATIONS PRESENT. THIS FUNCTION HELPS ADVANCE OUR MISSION.
SEMINOLE COUNTY FARM BUREAU HOSTED A YOUTH SPEECH CONTEST. THIS CONTEST ALLOWS STUDENTS TO DEVELOP RESEARCH AND PRESENTATION SKILLS WHILE GAINING AN APPRECIATION FOR THE INDUSTRY.
AG LITERACY DAY IS AN IMPORTANT OUTREACH EVENT WHERE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS LEARN ABOUT DIFFERENT COMMODITIES EACH YEAR. THE 2021 BOOK FOCUSED ON THE BEEF AND CATTLE INDUSTRY. THE BOOKS ILLUSTRATOR RECEIVED HELP FROM ONE OF OUR LOCAL RANCHERS. STUDENTS FROM A LOCAL SCHOOL WERE ABLE TO COME OUT TO THAT RANCH AND LEARN ABOUT THE CATTLE INDUSTRY WITH HANDS-ON EXPERIENCES.
