DEDICATED TO PRESERVING THE AGRICULTURAL RIGHTS OF THOSE IN OUR COMMUNITY THAT FARM OR HAVE AN AG-RELATED BUSINESS. ACT AS AN ADVOCATE OVER LOCAL GOVERNMENT TO ENSURE PRIVATE PROPERTY RIGHTS.

TO PROMOTE YOUTH AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION, OUR WOMEN'S COMMITTEE AND YOUNG FARMERS & RANCHERS SPONSORED MANY EVENTS DURING THE ALACHUA COUNTY FAIR AND LIVESTOCK SHOW. DURING THE YOUTH FAIR SCHOOL TOURS WERE PROVIDED TO STUDENTS WHERE THEY VISITED BOOTHS HIGHLIGHTING LOCAL AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS. WE ALSO SUPPORTED THE LOCAL 4-H AND FFA GROUPS DURING THE LIVESTOCK SHOW BY SPONSORING LIVESTOCK.
ALACHUA COUNTY FARM BUREAU HAS PARTNERED WITH A LOCAL TELEVISION STATION TO MAKE THE PUBLIC AWARE OF THE VARIOUS AGRICULTURAL ISSUES IMPACTING OUR LOCAL FARMERS AND RANCHERS. THIS IS THE ONLY LOCALLY PRODUCED PROGRAM IN NORTH CENTRAL FLORIDA THAT FOCUSES ON OUR LOCAL AGRICULTURE AND RURAL CITIZENS. EACH PROGRAM FOCUSES ON SOME ASPECTS OF AGRICULTURE OR SOME IMPORTANT TOPIC OR ISSUE FACED BY AGRICULTURAL PRODUCERS AND RURAL RESIDENTS.
ALACHUA COUNTY FARM BUREAU PROVIDES AN ARRAY OF EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS OF ALL AGES. WE PROVIDED ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS TO HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHOSE APPLICATIONS ARE DEEMED OUTSTANDING BY OUR YOUTH & EDUCATIONAL COMMITTEE WHO WANT TO PURSUE AN AGRICULTURE DEGREE. WE ALSO HOLD A YOUTH SPEECH CONTEST. THE PURPOSE OF THIS CONTEST IS TO PROMOTE A STRONGER INTEREST AND CLEARER UNDERSTANDING OF THE MANY ASPECTS OF AGRICULTURE. IT GIVES STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE, APPRECIATION, AND UNDERSTANDING OF AGRICULTURE.
