WE PARTICIPATED IN FARM CITY WHICH IS A NATIONAL EVENT THAT BRINGS TOGETHER FARMERS, RANCHERS, FRUIT GROWERS, PUBLIC LEADERS AND URBAN BUSINESSMEN AND WOMEN. THIS COALITION PROJECT IS A MEANS TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATIONS PURPOSE AND MISSION.
OUR LOCAL 4-H IS STRUGGLING TO SURVIVE. IT IS BECOMING MORE AND MORE DIFFICULT TO REACH YOUNG PEOPLE BECAUSE OF THE MANY RESTRICTIONS THAT ARE STILL IN PLACE. WE WERE ABLE HOWEVER TO HELP TARGET SOME OF THE 4-H GROUPS THROUGH THE POULTRY PROGRAM. THIS IS THE ONLY AGRICULTURE RELATED 4-H PROGRAM IN OUR COUNTY. WE SPONSORED A MARKET PROJECT AND ANOTHER PROGRAM THE OFFER 'FARMER FOR A DAY.'
WE HOLD A LEGISLATIVE LUNCHEON WHOSE PURPOSE IS AGRICULTURAL AWARENESS OF LEGISLATIVE ISSUES FACING OUR INDUSTRY. WE BRING LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL LEGISLATURES TOGETHER TO DISCUSS UPCOMING ISSUES IMPACTING AGRICULTURE ALONG WITH OUR MEMBERS.
