VOCATIONAL AND LIFE ENRICHMENT DAY SERVICES:INDEPENDENCE IS SOMETHING THAT IS IMPORTANT TO EVERYONE. OUR DAY SERVICES ARE DESIGNED TO ASSIST INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES IN PREPARING TO ACHIEVE GREATER INDEPENDENCE AND LEAD THE LIVES THEY CHOOSE.INDIVIDUALS HAVE THE CHOICE OF PARTICIPATING IN A VARIETY OF SERVICE TRACKS AND LIFE ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES BASED UPON INDIVIDUAL INTERESTS.THE SERVICE TRACKS ARE DESCRIBED ON SCHEDULE O.EXAMPLES OF SERVICE TRACKS INCLUDE: JOB SKILLS, COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT, LIFE ENRICHMENT, ENHANCED AND SENIOR SERVICES.VOCATIONAL SERVICES OFFER INSTRUCTION TO DEVELOP RELEVANT JOB SKILLS. EACH COHORT PROVIDES SERVICES, SUPPORTS, AND EXPERIENTIAL OPPORTUNITIES, WITH THE AIM OF ENHANCING SKILLS THAT WILL PREPARE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES TO SUCCEED IN WORKPLACE AND POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION SETTINGS. COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS LEADING TO JOB PERFORMANCE; FINANCIAL LITERACY; PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT AS WELL AS JOB-SEEKING SKILLS; AND OTHER "SOFT" LIFE SKILLS NECESSARY FOR EMPLOYMENT ARE INTEGRAL TO THE TRAINING PLATFORMS.- PACKAGING, FULFILLMENT AND SHIPPING CONTRACTS WITH VARIOUS BUSINESSES STATEWIDE.- SUNPASS TRANSPONDER PACKAGING: MTC WAS AWARDED THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION CONTRACT TO PACKAGE AND SHIP SUNPASS TRANSPONDERS IN 2007. MACDONALD TRAINING CENTER IS THE SOLE PACKAGER AND DISTRIBUTOR OF SUNPASS TRANSPONDERS. MTC IS DEDICATED TO HELPING THE PEOPLE WE SERVE FIND AND RETAIN COMMUNITY-BASED EMPLOYMENT BY THE ACQUISITION AND REFINEMENT OF BOTH TECHNICAL AND SOCIAL SKILLS. THE CURRICULUM AND TRAINING MATERIALS ARE UTILIZED TO EDUCATE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES ON CRITICAL EMPLOYMENT SKILLS AS THEY RELATE TO A PERSON'S ABILITY TO INTERACT EFFECTIVELY WITH CO-WORKERS AND CUSTOMERS. TRANSFERABLE JOB AND SOCIAL SKILLS ARE FOSTERED WITHIN AN ENVIRONMENT OF PRODUCTION QUOTAS AND QUALITY.CURRENT TRAINING CONTRACTS PROVIDE SERVICE TO A WIDE VARIETY OF BUSINESSES, INCLUDING FLORIDA TURNPIKE ENTERPRISES, NESTLE PROFESSIONAL, PIEDMONT NATIONAL, AND TAMPA ELECTRIC COMPANY MANATEE VIEWING CENTER. MANY LOCAL ENTREPRENEURS HAVE ENTRUSTED PACKAGING AND FULFILLMENT FOR THEIR PRODUCTS INCLUDING: BETTER BOAT, BOTTLE CREW, CONSCIOUS COCONUT, DOCKSLOCKS, GURUS' SANDALS AND YOGA MATS, IDEA TWINS' HAPPESEAT CAR SEAT COVERS, LOVE & PIECES, MOLLY'S SUDS, SUNJACK, AND VENTURE WIPES. RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES IN THE TAMPA BAY AREA CAN ALSO DONATE THEIR ELECTRONICS FOR RESPONSIBLE REFURBISHMENT AND RECYCLING. EQUALITY RECYCLING SOLUTIONS IS AN R2 CERTIFIED ELECTRONIC RECYCLER AND A MICROSOFT REGISTERED REFURBISHER THAT WORKS WITH GOVERNMENT AGENCIES LIKE HOMELAND SECURITY AND THE FEDERAL AVIATION AUTHORITY, AS WELL AS FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS SUCH AS GTE FINANCIAL AND BANK OF AMERICA. REFURBISHED COMPUTERS ARE SOLD TO CONSUMERS AND BUSINESSES ALIKE THROUGH EQUALITY RECYCLING'S OWN EBAY STORE ALL EQUIPMENT ADHERES TO MICROSOFT'S STANDARDS. ALL RECYCLED COMMODITIES ARE THEN SOLD TO OTHER R2 CERTIFIED RECYCLERS SUCH AS STREAM RECYCLING.MTC IS DILIGENT IN PROVIDING REAL WORK TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES WE SERVE, WHILE PROVIDING AFFORDABLE AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR OUR BUSINESS CLIENTS.
