ONCE AGAIN THIS YEAR, THE COVID PANDEMIC CAUSED CANCELLATIONS AND MODIFICATIONS TO MANY EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES. MOST NOTEABLE WAS THE PERMANENT CANCELLATION OF THE "ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF ART." EIGHT COMPETITIVE JURIED ART SHOWS PROVIDED 2-D AND 3-D ART EXHIBITIONS FOR FREE PUBLIC VIEWING, ENJOYMENT, EDUCATION, AND COMMUNITY ENHANCEMENT OF THE ARTS. ADDITIONAL SHOWS INLCUDED THE 16TH ANNUAL ALL-COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL AND 11TH ANNUAL MIDDLE SCHOOL SHOWS, BOTH IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE ST. JOHNS COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT. THE 5TH ANNUAL "PLEIN AIR PAINT OUT- AND EXHIBIT HELD IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CITY OF ST. AUGUSITNE, FLAGLER COLLEGE, THE LIGHTNER MUSEUM AND OTHER COMMUNITY PARTNERS. A SPECIAL 2-MONTH VETERAN'S EXHIBIT EXPLORING THE HEALING POWER OF ART, "THEN & NOW: 50 YEARS OF VETERAN EXPERIENCE," ALSO INCLUDED PUBLIC "MEET & GREET" WITH THE ARTISTS, A LECTURE AND BOOK SIGNING. THE SEPTEMBER "WALK IN PEACE" EXHIBITION BY THE LATE DON TROUSDELL, COMMEMORATED THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF 9/11/2001. OTHER SPECIAL EXHIBITIONS INCLUDED: THE FIRST COAST PASTEL SOCIETY; THE ST. AUGUSTINE CAMERA CLUB; THE "TACTILE ART SHOW" CELEBRATING OCTOBER AS "NATIONAL SENSORY PROCESSING AWARENESS MONTH" HELD IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE FLORIDA DEAF & BLIND ASSOCIATION. MONDAY NIGHT "FIGURE STUDY" PROVIDES NON-INSTRUCTIONAL WEEKLY STUDIO SESSION WITH A LIVE MODEL. THERE IS A PERMANENT INSTALLATION OF HISTORIAL ARTIFACTS ON DISPLAY FROM THE RAID ON ST. AUGUSTINE BY SIR FRANCIS DRAKE, IN 1586.
ART EDUCATION FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN. ONLINE SUMMER ART CAMP FOR CHILDREN. GALLERY SPACE IS AVAILABLE FOR RENTAL TO INDIVIDUAL ARTISTS TO EXHIBIT THEIR ARTWORK TO THE COMMUNITY. MEMBERSHIP DUES. 100TH ANNIVERSARY FUND. RAISING FUNDS TO REPLACE CARPETED PLYWOOD WALLS FOR ARTWORK INSTALLATION THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE BUILDING.
