SOUTH FLORIDA COUNCIL, BSA EXISTS TODAY TO SERVE OTHERS BY HELPINGINSTILL VALUES IN YOUNG PEOPLE & PREPARE THEM TO MAKE ETHICALCHOICES DURING THEIR LIFETIME & ACHIEVE THEIR FULL POTENTIAL.COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZATIONS RECEIVE NATIONAL CHARTERS TO USE THESCOUTING PROGRAM AS PART OF THEIR OWN YOUTH WORK. OVER 216 OFTHESE LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS WHO HAVE GOALS COMPATIBLE WITH THE BSAHAVE PARTNERED WITH US TO DELIVER SCOUTING. THESE ORGANIZATIONSINCLUDE RELIGIOUS, EDUCATIONAL, CIVIC, FRATERNAL, BUSINESS &LABOR, GOVERNMENTS, CORPORATIONS, PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS &CITIZEN'S GROUPS. LEADERSHIP TRAINING AND VALUES EDUCATION TO OVER13,000 YOUTH INCLUDING INTERDEPENDENCE, ETHICAL DECISION MAKING,CONFLICT RESOLUTION, SELF-ESTEEM BUILDING POSITIVE PEERRELATIONSHIPS & MENTORING SKILLS. ALSO INCLUDES BUILDING HEALTHYCOMMUNITIES INCLUDING CRIME PREVENTION TRAINING FOR YOUTH &LEADERS, SERVICE PROJECTS LIKE CHILDREN'S BOOKS & FOODCOLLECTIONS, BLOOD DRIVES & COMMUNITY CLEAN UPS. IN ADDITION, THESOUTH FLORIDA COUNCIL PROVIDES CHARACTER EDUCATION TOAPPROXIMATELY 32,000 PARTICIPANTS THROUGH ITS LEARNING FOR LIFEPROGRAM.


CAMPING AND OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES INCLUDING ENVIROMENTAL EDUCATION FOR APPROXIMATELY 30,000 YOUTH.


THE LEARNING FOR LIFE PROGRAM UTILIZES PROGRAMS DESIGNED FOR SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE DESIGNED TO PREPARE YOUTH FOR THE COMPLEXITIES OF SOCIETY AND TO ENHANCE THEIR SELF-CONFIDENCE, MOTIVATION, AND SELF-ESTEEM. MORE THAN 20,000 YOUTH PARTICIPATE IN THE LEARNING FOR LIFE PROGRAMS.
