PRIOR TO THE WINDING DOWN PHASE, THE MISSION WAS AS FOLLOWS: THE DAVID TOMS FOUNDATION PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR AT-RISK BOYS AND GIRLS. THE FOUNDATION HAS BUILT A STATE-OF-THE ART GOLF PRACTICE AND YOUTH ACADEMY. THE ACADEMY'S GOAL IS INCREASE SELF-ESTEEM AND IMPROVE CHILDREN'S LIFE SKILLS BY TEACHING INTEGRITY, SPORTSMANSHIP, RESPONSIBILITY. THE FOUNDATION ALSO HELPS UNDERPRIVILEGED, ABUSED AND ABANDONED CHILDREN THROUGH FUNDING PROGRAMS THAT ARE DESIGNED TO ENHANCE A CHILD'S CHARACTER, SELF-ESTEEM AND CAREER POSSIBILITIES.
