EDQUEST GEORGIA INCLUDES RESEARCH, A PLAN OF WORK, AND COORDINATION OF A COALITION OF 40 GEORGIA BASED ORGANIZATIONS LED BY THE GEORGIA PARTNERSHIP. EDQUEST GEORGIA IDENTIFIES SEVEN CORE AREAS THAT LOCAL COMMUNITIES, STATES, AND COUNTRIES ARE USING TO ACHIEVE GREAT SUCCESS WITH THEIR PUBLIC EDUCATION SYSTEMS. BASED IN BEST-PRACTICE RESEARCH, EDQUEST GEORGIA HIGHLIGHTS THESE CORE POLICIES PROVEN TO INCREASE THE EDUCATION OUTCOMES ACROSS THE ENTIRE BIRTH-TO-WORK PIPELINE, WHILE HELPING INFORM, ENGAGE, AND MOBILIZE STAKEHOLDERS - PARTICULARLY IN BUSINESS, EDUCATION, PHILANTHROPIC, AND POLICY-MAKING COMMUNITIES - TO WORK TOGETHER TO SUPPORT INNOVATIVE AND EVIDENCE-BASED EDUCATION REFORM.
THE EDUCATION POLICY FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM ADDRESSES THE NEED FOR AN EDUCATION LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM IN GEORGIA TO PROVIDE POTENTIAL LEADERS WITH KNOWLEDGE AND NETWORKS TO ADVANCE THE CORE ISSUES OF EDUCATION POLICY. IT SERVES AS A CRITICAL RESOURCE FOR INDIVIDUALS, ORGANIZATIONS AND THE STATE TO INCREASE THE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT EDUCATION POLICY AND LINKAGES BETWEEN POLICY AND PRACTICE. ULTIMATELY, EPFP SEEKS TO IMPROVE THE CHANCES OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH TO SUCCEED. SEVEN DAY-LONG COLLOQUIUMS, AN OPENING RETREAT AND A NATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY SEMINAR ARE PROVIDED.
THE RURAL INITIATIVE ENCOMPASSES WORK THAT ENHANCES THE CAPACITY OF GEORGIA CIVIC AND EDUCATION LEADERS TO ADVANCE THEIR LOCAL BIRTH-TO-WORK PIPELINES. THE INITIATIVE DISTRIBUTES MINI-GRANTS TO LOCAL GEORGIA CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE TO IMPROVE LOCAL COLLEGE-GOING AND COMPLETION RATES, HIGHLIGHTS LOCAL STORIES OF SUCCESS THROUGH A PODCAST KNOWN AS "FIELD NOTES", INCREASES THE PARTICIPATION OF RURAL COMMUNITY LEADERS IN NON-PARTISAN STATEWIDE EDUCATION POLICY INITIATIVES, AND PROVIDES A RURAL COMMUNICATION NETWORK. THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK INCLUDED 56 RURAL EDUCATION, NONPROFIT, AND BUSINESS LEADERS IN 2021.
ACTIVITIES TO FULFILL MISSION OF THE ORGANIZATION INCLUDES COMMUNITY PRESENTATIONS AND COMMUNITY STRATEGIC PLANNING, MEDIA SYMPOSIUM FOR EDUCATION REPORTERS, AND POLICY FORUMS.
