THIS ORGANIZATION SERVES FAMILIES FACING CANCER THROUGH A VARIETY OF PROGRAMS THAT ARE COMPLEMENTARY TO MEDICAL TREATMENT. PROGRAMS INCLUDE MONTHLY AND WEEKLY SUPPORT GROUPS FOR CANCER PATIENTS AND THEIR CAREGIVERS. HEALTHY LIVING AND STRESS REDUCTION CLASSES, INCLUDING GENTLE EXERCISE, YOGA, MUSIC, ART, NUTRITION, COOKING AND MINDFULNESS, ARE ALSO OFFERED. A WIDE RANGE OF EDUCATIONAL CLASSES ON MANAGING CANCER ALONG WITH SOCIAL ACTIVITIES ARE OFFERED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. PROGRAMS ARE AVAILABLE FOR CHILDREN WHO HAVE A PARENT, GRANDPARENT, SIBLING, OR OTHER FAMILY MEMBER WITH CANCER. ALL SERVICES ARE LED BY PROFESSIONALS, OFFERED FREE OF CHARGE, AND ARE DESIGNED TO ENHANCE PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING AS WELL AS IMPROVE QUALITY OF LIFE. CSCET PROGRAMS ARE EVIDENCED-BASED AND RECOGNIZED BY THE NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF MEDICINE, WHO HAVE DOCUMENTED THAT COMPLEMENTARY CARE IS A "NECESSARY AND INTEGRAL COMPONENT OF QUALITY CANCER CARE." THE COVID-19 NECESSITATED NEW WAYS OF OFFERING PROGRAMS. SINCE MARCH 2020, ALL PROGRAMS HAVE BEEN OFFERED IN A VIRTUAL FORMAT. IN 2022, THE ORGANIZATION BEGAN HYBRID PROGRAMMING, ALLOWING MEMBERS TO PARTICIPATE IN PERSON OR VIRTUALLY.
