THE FRIENDS OF THE JEFFERSON PUBLIC LIBRARY IS AN INDEPENDENT NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION COMPRISED OF CIVIC-MINDED VOLUNTEERS. IT SUPPORTS THE JEFFERSON PARISH LIBRARY BY PROMOTING LIBRARY AWARENESS, PROVIDING NEEDED FUNDS FOR UNBUDGETED ITEMS FOR THE LIBRARY AND ITS BRANCHES THROUGH FUNDRAISING, AND PARTICIPATING IN LITERACY PROGRAMS.

THE ORGANIZATION IS AN INDEPENDENT NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION DEDICATED EXCLUSIVELY TO THE SUPPORT OF THE JEFFERSON PARISH LOUISIANA PUBLIC LIBRARY. THE ORGANIZATION CONDUCTS BOOK SALES AND USES OTHER MEANS TO SELL BOOKS CULLED FROM THE LIBRARTY'S SHELVES AS WELL AS USED BOOKS DONATED BY THE GENERAL PUBLIC, WITH ALL THE PROFITS THEREFROM DEDICATED TO SUPPORTING THE LIBRARY'S PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES.
