HOME CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM HABITAT BUILDS HOMES AT REDUCED COST FOR FAMILIES WITH LIMITED INCOMES WHO ARE WILLING TO CONTRIBUTE THEIR OWN SWEAT EQUITY IN THE BUILDING OF HOMES FOR THEMSELVES AND FOR OTHERS. HOMES ARE SOLD WITH NO-INTEREST LOANS TO FAMILIES WHO SHOW A DESIRE TO BECOME HOMEOWNERS BY COMPLETING THE HABITAT PARTNERSHIP REQUIREMENTS. DURING OUR FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2021, TWO HOMES WERE COMPLETED AND SOLD UNDER THIS PROGRAM.
DISCOUNTED BUILDING MATERIALS RESALE CENTER RESTORE HABITATS RESTORE ACCEPTS DONATIONS FROM A WIDE VARIETY OF RESOURCES INCLUDING INDIVIDUALS, COMPANIES, CORPORATIONS, GOVERNMENT ENTITIES AND MORE. THE DONATIONS CAN BE BUILDING MATERIALS AND RELATED USABLE STUFF THAT INCLUDES TOOLS, APPLIANCES, AND LAWN AND GARDEN ITEMS. EXAMPLES INCLUDE NEW, EXCESS INVENTORY, OVER-RUNS AND USED MATERIAL AND APPLIANCES. WE SELL THESE ITEMS CREATING INCOME TO BE USED IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW HOMES IN WAYNE COUNTY FOR FAMILIES IN NEED OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING. DURING OUR FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2021 SALES FROM OUR RESTORE PROGRAM TOTALED 409,808.
