CURATED AN EXHIBIT ABOUT LOCAL ARCHAEOLOGY AND HOW STONE PROJECTILE POINTS WERE CRAFTED THOUSAND OF YEARS AGO BY INDIGENOUS PEOPLE. THE EXHIBIT HAS BEEN ON DISPLAY AT A LOCAL MEDICAL FACILITY WHILE THE NEW CHEROKEE COUNTY HISTORY CENTER IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION.
LAUNCHED AN ONLINE COMMUNITY CURATED EXHIBIT, CHEROKEE IN 20 OBJECTS. THIS COLLABORATIVE INITIATIVE ALLOWED THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY TO CREATE A VIRTUAL EXHIBIT THAT TELLS OUR HISTORY USING ONLY TWENTY OBJECTS RECOMMENDED BY COMMUNITY MEMBERS. AVAILABLE AT CHEROKEECOUNTYIN20OBJECTS.WORDPRESS.COM

AN EXHIBITS COMMITTEE HAS BEEN MEETING REGULARLY TO EXPLORE ALL ASPECTS OF CHEROKEE COUNTY HISTORY TO CREATE INCLUSIVE, ACCESSIBLE EXHIBITS FOR ALL AGES. WHILE THESE EXHIBITS WILL BE ENGAGING AND INTERACTIVE, ELEMENTS WILL BE UTILIZED TO CREATE SAFE, TOUCH-FREE ALTERNATIVES FOR THE NEW COVID-19 ENVIRONMENT.
