PERSONAL AID PROGRAM: RENT OR MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE FOR PERSONS WHO ARE OFF WORK ON MEDICAL LEAVE, ARE EMPLOYED, AND ARE ABLE TO RETURN TO THEIR JOB WHEN RELEASED BY THE DOCTOR. OTHER ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE UNDER THIS PROGRAM: PRESCRIPTION FILL/REFILL PAYMENTS; CLOTHING AND CLOTHING REFERRALS; PURCHASE OF MEDICALLY RELATED ITEMS; MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION; TRANSIENT AID; SENIOR CHRISTMAS PROGRAM.
SHARE PROGRAM--THE SHARE AND ROUND-UP PROGRAMS ARE ADMINISTERED BY PERSONAL AID FOR THE CITY OF LAGRANGE AND DIVERSE POWER. A VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTION BY CUSTOMERS OF THESE UTILITIES, ADDED TO THEIR MONTHLY UTILITY BILLS, PROVIDES FUNDS FOR THE SHARE PROGRAM. THE CITY OF LAGRANGE UTILITIES ROUND-UP PROGRAM ROUNDS A CUSTOMER'S BILL TO THE NEXT WHOLE DOLLAR. ROUND-UP FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE FOR CUSTOMERS WITH A CITY OF LAGRANGE UTILITY OR WATER BILL ONLY. ASSISTANCE IS BASED ON INCOME, AND IS LIMITED TO ONCE A YEAR FOR NO MORE THAN 100.00.
FOOD CLOSET FUND--THE INTERFAITH FOOD CLOSET IS ADMINISTERED IN COORDINATION WITH LOCAL CHURCHES. ALTHOUGH GENEROUS IN NATURE, THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE UNTIL GOVERNMENT AID IS ACQUIRED OR MEDICAL/WORK CIRCUMSTANCES CHANGE.
BENEVOLENCE/DEACON'S FUNDS DISTRIBUTION SERVICES ARE PROVIDED FOR FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, LOYD PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, CALLAWAY PARK CHURCH, HILYER BAPTIST CHURCH AND ROSEMONT BAPTIST CHURCH. THESE FUNDS ARE DISTRIBUTED IN CONJUNCTION WITH OUR OTHER PROGRAMS TO ASSIST THOSE IN NEED IN THE TROUP COUNTY AREA.
