OVER THE PAST TWENTY YEARS, WORKSHOP HOUSTON HAS GROWN INTO A WELL ESTABLISHED YOUTH DEVELOPMENT AGENCY AND IMPORTANT NEIGHBORHOOD RESOURCE. WORKSHOP HOUSTON HAS SERVED THOUSANDS OF YOUTHS THROUGH AFTER SCHOOL AND SUMMER PROGRAMS THAT GUIDE STUDENTS TO DEVELOP TECHNICAL SKILLS, MEANINGFUL CREATIVE PRACTICE, AND ACADEMIC CONFIDENCE. USING A HANDS ON, ARTS BASED EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY TO RESPOND TO THE NEEDS OF THE THIRD WARD COMMUNITY, MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, FROM THE COMMUNITY, ARE INVITED TO WORKSHOP HOUSTON TO PARTICIPATE IN REWARDING PROGRAMS THROUGH FOUR ON SITE SHOPS: BEAT SHOP; MUSIC PRODUCTION, DANCE SHOP; MODERN DANCE AND PERFORMING ARTS, MEDIA SHOP; VISUAL AND MULTIMEDIA, STYLE SHOP; FASHION AND GRAPHIC DESIGN.
