CAMP HOB PROVIDES PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN BETWEEN THE AGES OF 4 AND 19 YEARS OLD AND THEIR FAMILIES, THROUGH SUMMER CAMP PROGRAMS AND FAMILY OUTINGS. THE SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM OFFERS TWO 5-DAY OVERNIGHT RESIDENT CAMP SESSIONS: ONE FOR AGES 7-11 YEARS AND ONE FOR AGES 12-19 YEARS; A 2-DAY PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN AGES 4-7 YEARS, WHICH OFFERS BOTH A DAY CAMP AND A RESIDENT CAMP COMPONENT; AND A VIRTUAL CAMP PROGRAM. OUR FAMILY OUTING PROGRAM OFFERS 2-4 FREE FAMILY EVENTS EACH YEAR, SO THAT ALL FAMILY MEMBERS CAN PARTICIPATE IN SOCIAL EVENTS TOGETHER WITHOUT WORRYING ABOUT THE COST OF TICKETS. WE SERVE ALMOST 300 CHILDREN EACH YEAR THROUGH THE SUMMER CAMPS AND UP TO ANOTHER 1,100 INDIVIDUALS THROUGH THE FAMILY OUTINGS. WE SERVE PATIENTS WITH CANCER (AND SIMILAR DISORDERS) AND THEIR FAMILIES FROM WITHIN THE REFERRAL AREA FOR PRIMARY CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL, WHICH INCLUDES UTAH, IDAHO, WYOMING, AND NEVADA. ALMOST 95% OF THOSE SERVED BY CAMP HOB LIVE IN UTAH, WITH ABOUT 86% RESIDING ALONG THE WASATCH FRONT. CHILDREN OR TEENS DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER (AND SIMILAR DISORDERS) MAY PARTICIPATE IN CAMP HOB PROGRAMS WHILE THEY ARE BEING TREATED WITH IMMUNOSUPPRESSIVE THERAPY (CHEMOTHERAPY, RADIATION, OR IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS) AND FOR THREE CAMP SEASONS AFTER THEIR FINAL TREATMENT. THE PATIENT'S FAMILY MEMBERS MAY ALSO PARTICIPATE DURING THIS TIME.
