EDVENTURE IS A CHILDREN'S MUSEUM WITH THREE LOCATIONS IN SC (COLUMBIA, MYRTLE BEACH AND HARTSVILLE), WELCOMING OVER 182,342 VISITORS THIS PAST YEAR. THE MUSEUM'S ENRICHING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND EXHIBITS ENGAGE VISITORS THROUGH INFORMAL LEARNING, BLENDING LITERACY, STEAM EDUCATION, HEALTH NUTRITION AND WELLNESS, AND CAREER AWARENESS. BY FOCUSING ON THESE AREAS EDVENTURE ANNUALLY PROVIDES OVER 1,000 FREE BOOKS TO UNDERSERVED HOUSEHOLDS THROUGH ITS CHILDREN'S BOOK BANK, OVER 2,230 FREE SUMMER MEALS TO BRIDGE THE SUMMER NUTRITION GAP, MORE THAN 8,000 CHILDREN WITH HEALTH AND DENTAL PROGRAMMING/SCREENINGS, OVER 80,000 STEAM EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND NEARLY 60 TEENS WITH WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT. THROUGH PROGRAMS SUCH AS YES! EVERY CHILD, 25% OF EDVENTURE'S GUESTS ATTEND FOR FREE OR WITH A REDUCED ADMISSION.WHEN SCHOOL IS NOT IN SESSION, EDVENTURE FOCUSES ON ADDRESSING THE "SUMMER LEARNING SLIDE" THROUGH ITS SUMMER CAMP PROGRAMS. ANNUALLY, EDVENTURE SUMMER CAMPS PROVIDES MORE THAN 1,500 STUDENTS WITH ACADEMIC AND NUTRITIONAL SUPPORT FOR FULL DAYS WHEN SCHOOLS ARE NOT IN SESSION.
