SPECIAL OLYMPICS SOUTH CAROLINA PROVIDES YEAR-ROUND SPORTS TRAINING AND ATHLETIC COMPETITION IN A VARIETY OF OLYMPICS-TYPE SPORTS AND COMPETITIONS FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES, GIVING THEM CONTINUING OPPORTUNITIES TO DEVELOP PHYSICAL FITNESS, DEMONSTRATE COURAGE, EXPERIENCE JOY AND PARTICIPATE IN A SHARING OF GIFTS, SKILLS AND FRIENDSHIP WITH THEIR FAMILIES, OTHER SPECIAL OLYMPICS ATHLETES AND THE COMMUNITY. OUR PROGRAM IS ALSO MORE THAN JUST SPORTS. SPECIAL OLYMPICS SOUTH CAROLINA'S YEAR ROUND PROGRAMS ALSO INCLUDE INITIATIVES IN HEALTH, EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY BUILDING THAT ADDRESSES INACTIVITY, INJUSTICE, INTOLERANCE AND SOCIAL ISOLATION BY ENCOURAGING AND EMPOWERING PEOPLE OF ALL ABILITIES.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS GAMES, INFORMATION AND SUPPORT OF INDIVIDUALS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES IN SOUTH CAROLINA TO INCLUDE OVER 400 COMPETITIONS AND TRAININGS FOR OVER 28,000 ATHLETES ACROSS THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA AT NO COST TO THE PARTICIPANTS.
