PALMETTO GOODWILL'S MISSION IS TO HELP PEOPLE ACHIEVE THEIR FULL POTENTIAL THROUGH THE DIGNITY AND POWER OF WORK. PALMETTO GOODWILL SERVICES (GOODWILL) IS CHARTERED IN EIGHTEEN COUNTIES IN LOWER SOUTH CAROLINA THROUGH GOODWILL INDUSTRIES INTERNATIONAL TO PROVIDE WORK OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND DISADVANTAGES THROUGH THE ABILITY ONE PROGRAM. LOCAL BUSINESSES AND GOVERNMENT ENTITIES RELY ON GOODWILL TO PROVIDE CONTRACT SERVICES FOR FOOD SERVICE, JANITORIAL, COMMISSARY SHELF STOCKING, GROUNDS KEEPING, AND MAIL ROOM SERVICES.

PALMETTO GOODWILL SERVICES CONTINUED CREATING EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE BLIND OR HAVE SIGNIFICANT DISABILITIES UNDER THE SOURCEAMERICA ABILITYONE PROGRAM WHICH HAS A CONGRESSIONAL MANDATE THAT 75% OF DIRECT LABOR HOUR ARE PERFORMED BY THIS POPULATION OF EMPLOYEES. PALMETTO GOODWILL SERVICES REPORTED DIRECT LABOR HOURS OF 82.24% WHICH DEMONSTRATES THE COMMITMENT TO INCREASING TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES ABOVE THE FEDERAL MANDATE. PALMETTO GOODWILL SERVICES ALSO REPORTED TWO CONTRACT SITES WHO REACHED 100% DIRECT LABOR HOURS WORKED BY INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE BLIND OR HAVE SIGNIFICANT DISABILITIES. PALMETTO GOODWILL CURRENTLY EMPLOYEES 258 INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE BLIND OR HAVE SIGNIFICANT DISABILITIES PERFORMING SERVICING IN FEDERAL BUILDINGS AND MILITARY INSTALLATIONS IN SOUTH CAROLINA AND VIRGINIA. PALMETTO GOODWILL IS RECOGNIZED AS THE LARGEST (NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION) EMPLOYER OF INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE BLIND OR HAVE SIGNIFICANT DISABILITIES IN THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA. IN 2021, PALMETTO GOODWILL SERVICES CREATED 37 NEW EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES.
PALMETTO GOODWILL SERVICES DEVELOPED AN AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE COURSE TO HELP BRIDGE THE GAP IN OUR COMMUNITY AND TO THE 4% OF HEARING IMPAIRED ABILITYONE EMPLOYEES WORKING FOR THE ORGANIZATION. GOODWILL SERVED THE DEAF COMMUNITY IN 2021 WHERE 224 INDIVIDUALS COMPLETED ASL LEVEL 1 & 2 TRAINING. GOODWILL ALSO CREATING SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR CITIZENS IN THE COMMUNITY BY WAY OF A DONATION FROM A PRIVATE CITIZEN WHICH HELP COVER THE COST OF TUITION FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH FINANCIAL BARRIERS. GOODWILL ALSO RECEIVED A GRANT FROM SOURCEAMERICA TO COVER THE TUITION OF INTERNAL STAFF THAT ALLOWED UP TO 30 INDIVIDUALS TO SIGN UP FOR THE TRAINING. THE INDIVIDUALS THAT HAVE COMPLETED GOODWILL'S ASL PROGRAM REPRESENT OVER 23 STATES AND 46 DIFFERENT NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS FROM AROUND THE COUNTRY.
SOURCEAMERICA MILTON COHEN LEADERSHIP AWARD. PALMETTO GOODWILL TEAM MEMBER WAS SELECTED FOR THIS AWARD OUT OF OVER 560 NON-PROFIT AGENCIES WITHIN THE ABILITYONE PROGRAM. PALMETTO GOODWILL SERVICES WAS ALSO HIGHLIGHTED AS BEING ONE OF THE TOP 25 PERFORMING NPA IN THE PROGRAM WHERE THEY HAVE MENTORED OTHER AGENCIES. PALMETTO GOODWILL SERVICES HAVE TEAM MEMBERS THAT SERVICE ON THE SOURCEAMERICA BOARD OF DIRECTORS, CHAIRPERSON OF THE SOURCEAMERICA QUALITY WORK ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE (QWE) AND GOODWILL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COLLABORATIVE (BDC). PALMETTO GOODWILL SERVICES HAS ALSO BEEN RECOGNIZED BY SEVERAL STATE REPRESENTATIVES, MILITARY LEADERSHIPS, STATE GOVERNOR, AND MEMBERS OF CONGRESS FOR COMMITMENT TO SERVING INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE BLIND OR HAVE SIGNIFICANT DISABILITIES.
