PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS: THE ASHEVILLE SYMPHONY PROVIDES PUBLIC CONCERTS OF ORCHESTRAL AND CHORAL PERFORMANCES FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE BROADER COMMUNITY, AS WELL AS PROVIDING THE OPPORTUNITY FOR MUSICIANS AND STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN DIVERSE MUSIC EDUCATION PROGRAMS TO FOSTER AN APPRECIATION OF MUSIC THROUGH PUBLIC EDUCATION IN ITS 2021-2022 SEASON, THE ASO RETURNED TO FULL CAPACITY FOLLOWING CLOSURES SURROUNDING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. THESE ACTIVITIES INCLUDED 6 MASTERWORKS CONCERTS, ONE POPS CONCERT, ONE RECITAL, A FREE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT CONCERT CALLED SYMPHONY IN THE PARK, AND THE LAUNCH OF A NEW, 3-CONCERT MOBILE CHAMBER ORCHESTRA SERIES CALLED ALT ASO. SEVERAL OF ASO'S CORE EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES ALSO RESUMED, INCLUDING LIVE RETURN OF THE ASHEVILLE SYMPHONY YOUTH ORCHESTRA, ITS "SYMPHONY TALK" ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAM, AND CONTINUED INVESTMENT IN A VIRTUAL VERSION OF ITS MUSIC IN THE SCHOOLS PROGRAMS IN
COLLABORATION WITH SECRET AGENT 23 SKIDOO, KNOWN AS THE BEAT BACH SYMPHONIES. THE ASHEVILLE SYMPHONY CHORUS AND SYMPHONY GUILD ALSO RETURNED TO LIVE PROGRAMMING THROUGHOUT THE SEASON.
