THE TERRY FARREL FIREFIGHTERS SCHOLARSHIP FUND INC (THE FUND), WASESTABLISHED AAFTER THE TRAGIC LOSS OF 343 FIREFIGHTERS ON SEPTEMBER 11,2011. THE FUND OPERATES SOLEY TO SERVE THE NEEDS OF THE FIRST RESPONDERSAND THE COMMUNITY WHICH THEY SERVE. THE FUND PROVIDES SPECIAL GRANTS THATWERE AWARDED TO VARIOUS FIRE DEPARTMENTS THOUGH OUT THE COUNTRY.

SPECIAL GRANTS MADE TO SERVE THE NEEDS OF THE FIRST RESPONDERSAND THE COMMUNITY WHICH THEY SERVE. THE FUND PROVIDES ASSISTANCE AND GRANTSTO VARIOUS FIRE DEPARTMENTS AND FAMILIES OF FIREFIGHTERS THROUGH OUT THE COUNTRY.


SPECIAL GRANTS WERE AWARDED TO VARIOUS FIRE DEPARTMENTS THOUGH OUT THECOUNTRY. EQUIPMENT GRANTS: REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE FOR THE PURCHASE OF FIRE SERVICEEQUIPMENT, APPARATUS, PROTECTIVE CLOTHING OR TOOLS MAY BE MADE TO THE FUNDBY FIRE DEPARTMENTS ON DEPARTMENT LETTERHEAD AND SIGNED BY THE CHIEF OF THEREQUESTING DEPARTMENT. THE AMOUNT OF EACH GRANT AWARD IS AT THE SOLEDISCRETION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND REQUIRES A MAJORITY OF THE VOTEFROM ELIGIBLE MEMBERS.


SPECIAL GRANTS WERE MADE TO FIREFIGHTERS AND THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH OUT THECOUNTRY.SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AWARDED TO CHILDREN OF FIREFIGHTERS WHO ATTEND VOCATIONALOR PAROCHIAL SCHOOLS. UPON SUBMISSION OF A WRITTEN APPLICATION DETAILINGTHEIR PARENTS DUTY STATUS WITHIN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT SERVICE, THE AGE OFTHE STUDENT, THE GRADE ENTERING IN THE FALL OF UPCOMING SCHOOL YEAR ANDCONTACT INFORMATION, SCHOLARSHIP[S ARE AWARDED PURSUANT TO A LOTTERYDRAWING HELD AT THE OFFICE OF THE FUND ON THE FIRST SUNDAY IN AUGUST OFEACH SCHOLARSHIP YEAR. SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNTS ARE MADE AT THE SOLE DISCRETIONOF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
