THE MISSION OF THE CHARTER SCHOOL OF EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE (CSEE) IS TO PRODUCE STUDENTS WHO MEET OR EXCEED ALL NEW YORK STATE LEARNING STANDARDS. CSEE WILL DO THIS BY CREATING A CHALLENGING LEARNING ENVIRONMENT WITH HIGH EXPECTATIONS FOR EVERY CHILD WITH AN EMPHASIS ON THE BASIC SUBJECT AREAS OF ENGLISH-LANGUAGE ARTS, MATHEMATICS, SOCIAL STUDIES, AND SCIENCE. THE SCHOOL WILL EMPLOY STANDARDS BASED AND RESEARCH PROVEN CURRICULUM, IMPLEMENT BEST EDUCATIONAL PRACTICES, USE A VARIETY OF ASSESSMENTS TO MEASURE ON-GOING STUDENT PROGRESS IN SKILLS AND CONTENT LEARNING, AND SUPPORT TEACHERS WITH PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES THAT ARE ALIGNED TO THE INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM. CSEES EMPHASIS ON BASIC SUBJECTS WILL GIVE STUDENTS A STRONG ACADEMIC FOUNDATION THAT WILL ALLOW THEM TO BECOME CRITICAL THINKERS AND LIFE-LONG LEARNERS.
